Devourer Vs Lee Sin

Devourer was an item that was too strong on WW...so nerf WW. Even Udyr was not particularly powerful with it since he didn't have a point and click delete enemy button like ww. Devourer was NOT a reincarnation of FF. It came with 40 stacks and jungle creeps spawn slower now and are more difficult anyways. Also it gives more stacks from kills and assists which force the player to interact with others in the game. Devourer was a much healthier item that was balanced aside from WW's ridiculous skill set. Devourer needs its 40 on hit magic damage back so that odd ball picks like TF can be chosen to defend against the onslaught of evil beings like Lee Sin.

WW's kit wasn't ridiculous until that item came along. Now they've balance him around having that item. If you try to choose a different item, he has a much harder time. So what happens in game modes where that item doesn't exist? ARAM, TT, Dominion? Now a huge chunk of WW's damage is gone and the item that was making his damage overbearing originally isn't around so he's just all around weaker. This is why you don't balance champions around item builds.

how do you justify 40 magic damage on hit that scales with AP and the item builds AP with kills? I'm just a bit confused at the thinking here. Perhaps explain it to me.

WW was due for a rework anyways. That item is necessary for a lot of champions to jungle. Now it is practically unviable. Having 1/4 of your jungle items being overnerfed in order to compensate for a champion that is getting a rework eventually anyways is silly.

I guess I don't understand why WW's kit needs to change. It's still unique among the 120+ champs. It's still fun. It still has counterplay - I don't often go on unstoppable rampages with him. And it seems to match WW's theme pretty well. Exceptionally well.

So I don't see why this would be changed.

Well Riot disagrees with you. They already stated they are reworking his kit. Soooooo.....

That doesn't really answer my question. They've already stated they plan to rework a lot of kits that don't need a rework. That's just a cop-out answer, not a discussion.

He has a point and click delete button that procs 5 on hit abilities and using a cleanse/QSS does absolutely nothing to stop the damage. His ult is buggy enough that he can sometimes kill revive champions and people with GAs. Despite being melee like udyr, he also can ult from far away to gap close. Etc etc. He needs reworked.

Devourer doesn't scale with AP. It also doesn't stack AP, it stacks magic damage on hit. VERY different things.

I may have worded it wrong, but my point was that its on-hit damage grows with kills which I think leads to somewhat ridiculous scaling. Am I wrong about that?
