Can we please keep finishers as permanent but only on First Blood and Pentakills?

Just a thought... I totally get the desire to not make every kill a particle fest, but what if it was just first bloods that got to keep it?

(Note: Riot, if you do this, I will buy one.)

EDIT: as suggested below, also having this apply for pentakills would be similarly awesome. Honestly, it's even more fitting on pentakills than first blood, so if it were just on that, I'd be totally cool with it.

EDIT 2: Perhaps in the future, there could just be a new purchasable category in the store called Finishers. Finishers would be particle effects that would apply only on things like First Blood, Ace, and Pentakill. They'd be bought for RP. Anyone that already owns an URF Finisher icon at the time of implementation would be gifted that finisher that they could equip as if it were a ward skin. This would be the true ideal as I prefer my Shurima icon, but I really want a space laser if I get a pentakill. This would after all be a revenue source and I'm sure people would pay 250 RP for it.

I actually think there could be a way to do finishers on all kills. ^_^ While the current finishers are thematic to URF mode (IE: 'over the top'), there's probably a middle-ground where we could do some sweet effects without sacrificing gameplay clarity. FB only happens once a game and Pentakills are extremely rare. If I bought a custom finisher, I'd definitely want it to show up more than that. :)

Once URF mode is done, we'll take a step back and analyse the outcomes. In the meantime, I'M A' FIRIN' MAH LAZER!!

Yeah, we could do SFX only finishers but, I don't think they'd really be cool enough. I mean.. people play with their sound turned down, but you can't turn down the **LOVE ** on a <3 Heartsplosion. :)

easy solution, have finishers be 50% bigger for draven, OR, have a special finisher for draven that is completely over the top.

If the finisher was on FB and "special" kills, I think that would work. no? WOrst case, the two animation overlap, or if it really mess it up, I say draven's animation if ignored.

Side note, I tought the animation was only on draven himself?

How about to equip it, it would be similar to how the check box for wards in the store works. You just untick/tick whichever one you want on after you buy it. :D

What about the poro king icons as well, being able to get robo poros or space poros when you feed them a poro snack similar to braums poro would be pretty cool on ARAM

Possibly make it "rank up" with multikills? Like you may not see it, or a weak version on one kill, but successive kills (doubles, triples, quadra and penta) cause it to be more powerful. A penta would be as dramatic as it is in URF, because at that point everyone is dead, so clarity isnt really needed!

If this is done then can the current URF finishers still be used (toned down obviously but still a laser or URF ghost).

  • If you have mastery with the champion you're playing as, 10% chance for finishing animation if icon is equipped.
  • Dubstep Ignite (Ignite for last hit) always triggers finishing animation.
  • Killing enemy solo (nobody got assist) triggers finishing animation.

Just spitballing. Supports don't get first blood that often, and I haven't gotten a pentakill yet.

It's pretty much the same deal as the poro icons. The special interaction is limited, but you get to keep the icon forever.

Though, I agree that they should be added to normal modes as well.

Maybe they occur in things like: First Blood, Pentakills, Aces?

I know, I bought the battlecast poro icon and loved seeing him in game. But with it over, the icon itself feels lackluster.

I think the poro Icons should still work during ARAM, they could have the poro change when you feed it similar to how Braums poro gets a moustache.

Okay, I had the gentleman Poro, I loved it while it lasted, but I have a big, potentially huge problem here. What happens when 2 people feed a poro, and they have different poro effects? For example, a person with the dragonslayer poro feeds a poro. Then, someone with the spaceman poro feeds that same poro. What happens then? Either only the first effect remains and the poro gets bigger, or the second one covers up the first one, and gets bigger.

would probably have the first effect remain, and if everyone feeds the same Poro when it explodes into a bunch of poros they could have the other effects visible.

I wouldn't waste my money on them for a temp event.

But even if they were just for pentakills I would definately buy all 3. Such an awesome reward for getting the pentakill, letting everyone see your own custom graphic. I love it.

While we're at it, why not make the poro icons turn poros into the one you bought when feeding them?

Our Clarity guys wouldn't let us make anything so noisy that you'd want a 'disable option'. They're cool like that. :P EG: Pulsefire Ezreal already does a mini-finisher when he melts you into little bits & bytes, but it's not intrusive at all. I think PFE and URF mode are probably at the two extremes of what finishers could be.

Agreed. The effects would make clarity during teamfights even lower, and if a whole team had finishers team fight would be outright obnoxious. Much better if it only happens on first blood, penta, and ace.

However, it would trigger so infrequently that it wouldn't be worth sacrificing the icon slot, let alone RP cost.

Perhaps "finisher" could just be a new category of thing you could buy in the store for RP like ward skins that only applies when you Ace, Pentakill, or First Blood? Then, those that have this icon would simply be gifted that finisher that they could equip in any game.

I bought the heart because I've been wanting a good icon to match my rose bouquet ward (something love themed, and Sweetheart Tibbers wasn't doing it for me).

But making it so only first blood and pentakills get the finisher throws supports out the window.

Ugh I wish. However, I highly doubt they will implement this in the normal game. It's sort of the same situation with the Poro icons.

People were hoping that Riot would allow them to still have functionality, but instead by feeding a poro while having an equipped icon -> turns poro into said icon. On the bright side of this matter, that request would be much more difficult to than the URF Finisher icons. Here's to hoping! (:

I'd rather have them for all kills, but let people with shitty pcs turn them off. Or limit the amount of finishers in xy seconds (aka you can only see one finisher every 10seconds) so team fights wouldn't be as messy

From the patch notes:

Finishers are totally a new feature, not bugs added to Ultra Rapid Fire mode during the faulty upload. Available for 250 RP each during the Ultra Rapid Fire test only, Finisher icons enhance your frantic death-dealing by adding fancy animations when you kill your hapless foes. Please note, these icons are permanent but the in-game Finishers are temporary and only trigger during games of Ultra Rapid Fire
