Request to buff Tahm Kench

Hi all of you out there on the boards,

So, I like Tahm Kench and I would really like to play him more often. I see in the patch notes that they keep buffing some of his basic stats. While this is helpful I would like to throw a few more suggestions Riots way and see what everyone thinks.

The buffs I propose are:

  1. Make tongue lash not hit minions, because it is a harassing tool and honestly as a support who pretty much never uses it on minions there is no reason for it to do this. It already makes you stationary and is a skill shot, letting it be body blocked by minions turns lanes against long range ADC's like Ashe into a slow grind. They will never let you hit them with it, and they will always harass you from behind their minions when you get too close.

  2. Devour should prioritize enemy champions within range that have a full stack of Acquired Taste on them. When you're going out of your way to put stacks of Acquired Taste on the enemy champion that is because you intend to devour that champion. Nothing is more aggravating than getting up to red stacks, then flash devour, and only to land up hitting your ally who was chasing instead because they are on top of each other.

  3. That thing that they took out which allowed Tahm to use the Q to long range devour should be added back in. It would be a really cool way to differentiate good Kench's from bad Kench's, and gives him a little bit more play. Not unlike Alistars headbutt combo. I know that it could potentially get real crazy in certain match ups, but no more crazy than what he can do right now when he has a slow from an item (like you use your tongue lash Q to slow, then an iceborn gauntlet proc, and by that point they aren't going anywhere anyways). I see no reason not to add this cool combo back into the game.

Thoughts?

Thresh hook is for cc. Lets make it not hit minions so he can cc the enemies. Lets remove the counterplay.

Not getting where your coming from here. This post isn't about thresh (way to derail topic) and even comparing the two skills doesn't work.

Thresh's hook is equivalent to a very long stun, giving a big lock down and a follow up to the sweep. Kench's Q is only the slow, and he can't travel to the enemy with it or lock them down. Thresh doesn't use his Q to harass, he uses it to grab people so other people can kill them. The only similar ability Kench has is the devour, and it can only be used when you have 3 stacks on someone.

Where were you going with this comparison?

Well, it does in a way. 3 stacks makes Tahm's Q stun, and it's relatively cheap in terms of mana and the CD isn't long.

I believe 3 stacked enemies are already prioritized if their models are overlapping.

He can still do his long ranged devour, just not on champs. It'd be a bit much if you could devour someone from a range if you got some stacks on them.

I also like Tahm but, he's already quite strong. Frozen mallet synergizes amazingly well with him (two sources of damage + tankiness and utility), to the point that I've 1v1'd Vayne players who were ahead.

Tahm is already pretty strong, he just isnt appreciated for his strengths yet. People want to build funky ad builds rather than being really tanky with a liandries or wits end. People also dont realize that his most important strength is being able to eat that carry. Its pretty hard to know exactly when to eat your carry, or the proper time to eat an enemy so you dont screw up your teams damage.
