Um thoughts on Riots decisions, Real Thought.

have you guys considered these riot employees really only get "some" say in how things go, and by their job contracts they simply cant speak on the cogs of the machine, they seem to do some real Public Relations deflecting. Maybe Rioters dont really agree and dont really like the direction of specific aspects. yet, have no voice to change it. In other words.. They could be simply following orders.. while the round table has the final say.

Thoughts?

Riot is large enough as a company and a developer that they have outgrown the collaborative "Studio" organization method where a relatively small, dedicated group does all the things.

They have grown large enough to the point where they have adopted a "department" style organization where they have individual teams devoted to everything. This means that a scant few dictate how things are run and the people within that team dont actually have much say in what happens.

This leads to strange decisions, alienation of communities, and general distaste of changes. In smaller developers this doesnt happen because both the developer teams AND the players have an active role in the creation and balance of content.

TL:DR: Riot is to large for them to be working on one single game. they have to many cooks in the kitchen, so to speak, and the head chefs are using the confusion to do whatever they want regardless of how the customer feels.

More true for some Rioters ( KateyKhaos) than others (Lyte, Phreak).

I have noticed a change myself within the development of the game. Back in season 1 the game felt more like its own community. The game was almost directly changed and balanced by the player. And Riot served its players to the extent of their abilities. Now things seem more like mass production and the game is starting to feel more and more like a sell-out. With the pro scene taking over, (their biggest income) complete attention is given to the pros. This hurts player performance because everyone wants to be insec or back-door like kassadin, which is pure poison for players without experience. New champs always come out absurdly overpowered, and overpriced for the first 2 or 3 weeks. Its like they are trying to make money off of new champs now too, like hmm it costs 7100 ip, why don't you buy some riot points? Old champions get forgotten, and champions that don't get much attention (zac) get left in the dust because they are focused on pumping out as many Khalistas, and Rek'sais they can. And I swear, some of their decisions make no sense at all sometimes, as if they aren't in control any more, but instead the business men make the changes. Now this is just me, I don't know too much about the situation but this is what I have observed in the last 5 years that I have played this game religiously.
