I don't think Kog has ever been in any promotional art before

Any of those cool splashes we get at the beginning of seasons. Neat art showcasing League's champions. I've seen Ahri and Riven and Cait God knows how many times. The thing that precipitated this topic was the 'diversity' post that's up on /dev right now. This is the closest Kog has gotten to being in anything other than his own splash art since... ever.

The page is otherwise crawling with fun little pictures of... well... champs that we see all the time. The same crew. The same popular faces. And that's why they're on here, right? Because they're the popular faces. I'm encouraged to see Varus, though. He actually made it! Good on him.

Point of this topic?

Nothing, really.

Apart from wanting to see some more diversity in the champs that Riot promotes with art, merchandising, and general love. Someone other than Ahri could use the spotlight now and again.

I really like Kog's new base splash. Makes me wish his base model didn't make me vomit as much as the Void Puppy does.

That's a pretty impressive example of just how far Riot's art direction has come.

I suppose he was (sort of) in the Creator Victor splash as well, though Riot didn't end up going with that particular design for Battlecast Kog.

I mean the more artsy stuff and less BUY THESE SKINS stuff. The champ diversity article has some really fun champion art.

I know they said that about Urgot and if they had made him today, they would have gone with the Battlecast Urgot design instead.

I'm pretty sure they said of Kog he's so ugly he's cute.

I thought Kog'Maw was on one of the login screens celebrating either the Season or Worlds. I do agree there is champs that just never show up in anything though.
