Are there legitimate ap support counters?
aka (
)
they seem to just steamroll bot lane and single handedly carry the lane themselves
Any picks or tips when laning against them as support?

Sustain usually do well if you forget about counterattacking.
does well as long as you don't try to go in to land a Q everytime. Pots on yourself and heal your ADC works better since you don't risk getting caught out.
usually works. If a fight breaks just eat your adc and run away.
helps with the sustain.
that bitch isa big middlefinger for you trying anything.
you gotta max shield first instead of Q thou to make it work. It denies a lot of poke and damage
Janna, trust me on it

Basically any hard engage beats the crap outta them .
You need to hard engage before they poke you down first, though. That's often not possible?
Its matter of skill then , in theory , they should smash .
Poke counters all in, in theory. Sustain counters poke, and all-in counters sustain.
Tanks counter mages. They get bullied in early levels, but as soon as they get their engages ready, mages will lose without chance.
I have done well with
against them.
The trick is to block, undo, or interrupt the damage. Well timed stuns, shields, healing back the damage dealt.
No unfortunately, there isn't. These dudes in the comment section say that there is but then why are they either pick or ban in high elo play? Because they are the best supports in bot lane hands down. Btw, replace Brand with Karma. Brand is shit.
They're pick or ban because nobody wants to deal with this bs, not because they're OP/broken beyond belief.
Just pick a midlaner into him and make it a game of "2 guys farm while we play toplane with 2 midlane champions on botlane."
Melee supports kind of suck since ranged supports will just crush them in laning phase. However, ranged supports can't roam as well generally so thats my tip for you, pick a champion that can roam and roam.
Best tip I can give you is to stall. Make them work for that 1st tower and pray somebody else on your team takes it. The entire point of something like Malzahar support is to bully the enemy bot lane for a free 1st tower, but if they dont end up taking it then what good are they? If somebody picks a damage support and goes even in lane it's equal to a lost lane for them, and if they lose lane its a 4v5. Sure these guys all do have some kind of CC, but they aren't picked for it.
for counter picks
. Good sustain, black shields, and devour are good things to have. I'm a dirty mage main so this kind of stuff isn't too hard for me but i can see how it would be annoying for others
Tanky supports are usually good against mages.
Hard engage, really good.
