In the esports final from Royal Club vs Samsung White They just started and the ADC supports are top and the top laners are bot?? why? Is it a new meta? Doesn't seem right, no dragon control?

It's a trick to feed your ADC.

Put a Support+ADC top lane, get your support to harass the enemy top laner while the ADC free farms.

Make your top laner either a champ who's really good at farming under pressure (Mundo, for example) or make them follow your Jungler for super ganks (Alistar, for example).

But in this case, both the enemy adc and enemy support were also top. It was like the lanes were flipped.

Both teams were trying to do the trick at the same time, and it just looked funny.

They countered the lane swap so they can get the 2v2 with their stronger duo...

Think of it this way; both teams are playing hyper carry adcs. They both know that they're going to try and go duo-top and get themselves fed They're both two of the best adcs in the world; it's not worth the risk so both of them run duo top.

If one of them winds up not doing it then they'll switch to be together after first back since it's beneficial for both of them to not risk a 2v1 lane.

I'm wondering why there are 3 downvotes on this. Are people mad at me for not knowing what a duo top is? That's why I asked.

The purpose of it is usually so that one team can get a 2v1 lane for if they have a very weak ADC or top lane, because if they switch, the weak ADC/top gets just a strong as their opponent. Most teams will try to counter this if they guess that the enemy is lane swapping, since it removes the advantage they gained from picks and bans. Really, having a duo top vs duo bottom has very little difference if the other team does the same.
