so he literally dodge, am I saying this right?

EDIT: you don't get the reference

i'm not talking about in game ability's ninja tabi is a ninja item that was originally made to dodge attack, boots can't block attack that just doesn't make sense, so they could have just say:

"it dodge 10% of incoming basic attack instead"

Unsure what you are referring to. There are a few effects that defensively effect basic attacks, and all of them block a percent of their DAMAGE; so if I did 100 damage a hit, you would block 10% of it and only take 90 damage. The only dodge in the game is Jax's E, which makes autoattacks on him miss for the duration.

Ninja Tabi make all autoattacks do 10% less damage. This is because dodge is a horrible gameplay mechanic that never feels satisfying.

Let's say you have 10% dodge on X and 10% autoattack reduction on Y. In 10 attacks, Y takes the damage of 9. In 10 attacks X takes the damage of 10 to 0 randomly.

Statistically, X will take the same damage as Y over time, but without the reliability (which is important when buying tank stats) or feel. Additionally, look at how it feels for them; the opponent is pissed that their attacks have a chance to randomly do nothing which they cannot play around or bypass, you are pissed because you can't notice the dodge unless it is happening a lot (in which case the opponent is contemplating murder for the "lol you cant ever hit me" dude). Overall it has horrible feel and usage, and loses reliability for no useful gains.
