W T F !

We just played the most epic game and it took forever. I gave up like fifteen times! And I thought surely this is an epic battle of bronze gods! TO THE VICTOR SHALL GO LE SPOOLZ!

BUT NO! Apparently your crappy match making system stuck me in a game with underdogs who had EVERYTHING TO GAIN and only 15 lp to lose vs me.

I WOULD RATHER WAIT LONGER FOR A MATCH TO HAPPEN THAN GO IN RISKING MUCH TO GAIN VERY LITTLE!

FIX THIS!

I know you won't. God I hate you...

God I love you.

lp is based solely on win/loss. if you had an epic close game that means you had a fair GG match, why would you want to leave that rank for an even harder match for a higher chance at losing?

If we had a game where we won only 15 LP...wait do you truly comprehend how this works?

The amount of LP you win or lose is predetermined before the game starts. I don't know what you mean by "based solely on win/loss" but let me tell you how it works.

The MMRs are tallied up for each team. The amounts of LP to be gained or lost are determined by the difference in MMR. If your team has higher MMR they will gain less for the win (aka 15 lp) and the underdogs with lower MMR will gain more and you will lose more.

Can anyone tell me what the BASE LINE IS? I mean if both teams had exactly the same MMRs? Is it 20? I think it's 20.

But what I'm saying is Match making for the sake of expediency will throw these teams at each other where one has more to gain than the other and less to lose.

I would rather wait for a game or have the option of clicking on something that says I'm willing to wait longer for a game where the MMRs are more even so that I don't have knock down drag out fights where I have to solo carry the team all for 15 eeeeeeeeeeellllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllpeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

p.s. I hope this cleared up the myth that some of you BLATANT IDIOTS have about surrendering mattering in regards to how much LP is lost/gained.

It isn't right for only you to be able to receive a low risk/high reward scenario when this is a pvp game.

YES! Exactly!

I want EVEN RISK for EVEN REWARD.

What I meant is, that it isn't fair to everyone if only you get low risk/high reward scenarios, everyone gets them. Not every game will be equal, so sometimes you will be winning more/less LP depending on who is in the games themselves.

Yeah I know what you mean. I'm just saying I would rather wait longer to get the fairest match possible.

Someone whose been playing for longer and knows what the base line loss/gain is for an even MMR match tell us what it is plax.

Maximum LP for onen game is 25, so 15 for an even game does seem quite appropriate.

Also LP does not only depend on your opposing team, in fact the majority of it depends on your league.

If your MMR is lower then the average MMR in your league, you loose more MMR than you gain.

Hmmm, I'm almost I've seen more than 25 before. But maybe I'm not remembering correctly.

Ok I'm low on MMR, so I don't nowe about gain. but LP loss seems to be limited at 25. At least It stopped raising after that in a loosing streak for me..

not true.

LP/MMR gain is dictated solely by how above/below your current MMR is for the tier you are currently in. i gained 29LP for my last win and over 31+ LP is still possible.

This ofc results in quick climbing which gets you closer to your true mmr value at which point your mmr will either sink down to match your gains or you go all the way to diamond+

the average MMR gain and loss is 15 in either direction when you have a matching MMR value, thats how you know you are where you should be for the time being.

unless ofc you actually get to really high MMR like master+ and you can lose a lot more LP per loss than gain even though you are going 1-1 because its sooo competitive and more people are looking to get in.

THANK YOU TO THIS PERSON!

:D

I don't feel so bad about that game now.

I'm pretty sure I've gotten 28 LP in one game before.

LP gain is not based on what kind of match it was, and not even on who's the underdog. LP gain is PURELY based on your MMR compared to the league you are at (and the outcome of the game of course: win or loss).

When you are the underdog, your LP gain is higher, but your HIDDEN MMR gain is! And hidden MMR is all that matters because a higher MMR will grant you more LP in future games and lose less LP when you're defeated (this will cause your MMR to drop though).

Don't look at LP too blindly. If you win 3 games and receive 10 lp each time and then you lose one game and lose 30 LP, those games WERE NOT FOR NOTHING! Your LP is exactly the same, but your MMR rose! If you'd do this again you're probably gain 12LP each time and lose 24 LP so you'd gain 12 LP and your MMR is even higher now! Doing this an infinite time (winning 3 games and losing 1) will get you to Diamond, Master or even Challenger. Obviously, though, it'll get harder to win 3/4 of the games :).
