Thoughts about AD Grievous Wound Items - Love them, but...

For those of you who are concerned, this thread is about the grievous wounds item, like the executioner's calling.

First of all I really liked that the AD GW item is back into place (I played since Season 2). It was mad difficult for ADCs to tackle on health regenerating mundos and stuff. However, I think the current stat for those items is a bit too much. Note however I have not had the chances to actually play with the new item sets, so this is just me guessing about how it will turn out.

Current stats for the grievous wound item Executioner's Calling is like 15 AD, and EVERY physical damage to a target gives them grievous wound for 3 seconds. Wait, not auto attack but for ANY kinds of physical damage? That goes in regardless of the enemy's remaining % of health? And for 3 seconds?

I'm not sure 100% but how will Mundo, Volibear, and other health idiots will survive? I usually play Warwick these days, and I feel like it's going to be a huge nerf for him too. I feel like (unless some people share their actual experience about how the item is not too OP) there should be some minor tweaks about those items.

Following are the suggestions.

  1. Morellonomicon and AD GW items now inflict "Almost-Grievous Wounds" that reduces the healing for 25-30% instead of 50% - and buff the Morellonomicon so that it applies to enemies with below 50% health, not 40%. This kinda differentiates them with the summoner spell Ignite as well.

  2. Make it so that the "auto attack" gives grievous wounds, instead of "all sort of physical damage". I get how ADCs could melt down mundos and volis, but now AD casters and top laners will also be able to destroy our precious health tank cuties. See, now when Volibear and Darius is fighting, all Darius has to do is just swing around his Q and voila, Volibear passive reduced by 50%. It's that simple and quick.

  3. Relates to #2. Make the new AD GW item only buyable for "Marksmen" champions. How's that?

  4. Similar to Morellonomicon, AD GW item now inflicts grievous wounds only when dealt damage to enemies below 40% health.

  5. 3 flat seconds is too long, and the upgraded item is 5 seconds of grievous wounds per physical damage done. This is insane! It should be at least be around 1.5 seconds~2.5 seconds if it really is going to stay as "any physical damage to any % health remaining enemies" conditions.

  6. Delete the AD GW item completely, but buff Morellonomicon to enemies regardless of health remaining. This makes more sense to me, because the concept "grievous wounds" suits better with Magic and Mage champions, IMO.

Of course I'm not saying we should apply ALL of the above - I'm saying we should apply at least 1, at most 2. More than 2 would make it too weak.

I personally think Idea #3 is the best, and next up close is Idea #1. Idea #2 would still make the item strong - mainly because the item has an upgraded version that gives you Armor Pen + AD + Grievous Wounds. Normally champions should "give something up for gaining grievous wounds ability", but now the new item gives you all the needed stats - it's like a huge Bic Mac Meal.

I wonder how everyone else thinks + people with actual experience thinks.

I do have PBE account and I would love to try it out, but... I'm abroad right now so I can't play NA LoL/PBE LoL without having like 300 ping. damn it.

Now diamond+ players have a way to deal with soraka without gutting the champion.

I'm gonna say that healing is obnoxious, so it's very necessary for AD champions to be able to deal with healers. The stats might be a bit strong, but you would have to give up Lord Dominik's Regards, which is incredibly powerful. I don't think it will be too problematic, especially since Grievous Wounds was lowered to 40% healing reduction.
