Use the mute button! Here's why--

I was playing Graves with Thresh bot and we had a Vi jungle. My team got first blood thanks to Darius vs Gnar top and we get some kills bot lane with Vi. Afterward we got baited and turned over some kills. Then Vi says "why would you go into that, wtf is wrong with you,"

And I IMMEDIATELY, without thinking about it, muted Vi.

She seemed to say a couple more things due to response from another teammate, but overall we continued to focus.

Keyword: focus.

Had I not muted Vi, and chose to respond to negativity with negativity, it would have further upset my team mate (whom I wanted to work WITH, not against), and myself, and my support, mid, and top laner.

We end the game with a sound victory, and me going 17/3/2.

In the post game lobby, I let Vi know that Had I not muted him, I myself would have played worse. I then acknowledged his own efforts and complimented his teamwork. Good game. He then apologized for snapping and even said "I love you" haha.

Use the mute button to neutralize a negative, and then work it into a positive. Keep chat logging to a minimum--thanks to chat ban, It is easier to focus on my gameplay instead of flying my fingers across the keyboard :)

I hope sharing my experience helps other players who tend to fall into rage-traps!
