Hey, we still want Solo Queue ranked. Why?

KING ATTILA··203 votes·3,908 views

Because how the fuck is your rank supposes to represent your skill level when the game revolves around who has premades? So fucking stupid.

I don't gaf if Dynamic queue exists. Just make solo Queue so ranked can quit being a stupid joke.

*Edit: Another prime example! I just finished a game that was a complete stomp because I had a four man Korean or Chinese premade on my team. Whatever English they spoke was to tell me I'm bad, at which point I retorted that they have small wieners. But anyway...they were dicks. They pretended I didn't exist as they merced the other team.

14/2 zed and 17/6 vayne whom got a pentakill at the end.

So fair. I love winning only because my 4 man Asian premade carried the game! What a shitty win...

Dynamic que is fucking cancer, but Riot has shown that they do not care.

Ragaren25 votes

It's worse when the enemy team has a 3 man premade and your team has 5 randoms. Even worse than that you don't get any bonus LP if you win, and you lose just as much against a normal team. I mean clearly these 3 have a massive advantage over the 5 random players,

They have more control over role selection, have experience in team synergy and they have communication via skype or curse.

SirSmokeysAlot2 votes

Hah, see if they were actually better than you in terms of mmr, you would lose less lp and gain more for a win. Premades do not determine who wins the game. Most of the time me and a duo can carry a game no problem. You don't need a 5 man to win games.

Ragaren13 votes

Of course premades don't determine who wins the game, but they do provide massive advantages over a group of pugs. It's that advantage that creates an unfair environment in ranked.

SirSmokeysAlot3 votes

I don't know man. A lot of these advantages are easily countered. Yes, if three or 4 come top and you stay to defend it you will die and lose tower. But if you notice so and mid Mia and back off sue to good warding then you can to bot and trade tower. This is just an example but smarter play really does negate most of the advantages. I dunno I've had some pugs that work amazingly together. Maybe I'm just lucky.

Doesn't mean I'm gonna make an account just to talk to random people. If you told me to work together with my friend of 10 years I'd say "Easy job"

Tell me to work with a stranger and I'm probably going to have some problems. I don't know their play style, I have no past experience unlike with my friend who I played over 500 games with. And don't expect everyone to jump on the idea of joining calls where people will probably rage and yell.

SirSmokeysAlot1 votes

Lol. If that's you're attitude so be it. Btw. No account needed.

General Esdeath 6 votes

It's not just mine, it's a lot of people. I've seen countless times when someone asks if we want to join a skype/discord/curse/ts and I tend to be the only one who considers it. But after 3 I've just decided it's not worth it to join any.

SirSmokeysAlot2 votes

I completely understand. I've had some annoying experiences. Not bad, just can't stand the sound of some people's voice. I duo with a buddy or I'm solo, I don't normally feel like I need curse to win. Sometimes it would help but pings are good too you know.

Had a game with a 30+Year old and a guy who was 12... it was... weird.

KillerKell1 votes

I'm 37 myself. I've mentored a ton of kids on this game, trying to help them stop raging. Younger teens seem to be way more emotional than I remember.

Same thing would happen on a Basketball Court. You get kids out there from time to time trying to develop their game to a next level... I did when I was 11 and 12, and I've seen others do it when I was in my 30's.

No difference.

Not exactly sure what is weird about it.

If they won't learn or change, you move on... but there are a few that stick in there, want to be better, and start to realize flaming doesn't help them Win. So I have a few that are still on my Friends List that I Queue with.

But that goes regardless of age. If you are a Toxic Flamer, you can't help yourself... much less help me. Therefore, I don't need you and you drop off my list. I don't play with you any more. Some are skilled, and in that regard it's my loss... but a loss worth it to be rid of the Toxicity. Most suck, so it's a net Win for me.

I've had 30 Year Olds act worse than some of these 12 Year Olds.

As long as you play the game to Improve, try your best to Win and treat others with Respect... I don't care what you are or how old you are. You can be a cross-dressing she-male furry... I'm not here to judge. Just play the game the right way and treat others with respect.

So I'm not sure what's weird about it at all.

Troll for Trump2 votes

It's ok when you do it in your example on the basketball court, as most likely it was a parent or guardian figure who sent you to be mentored by adults, or you're job was to mentor others.

But if you go on a random basketball court, go to a random 12 year old and start teaching them how to play basketball.... that's strange.

So you think the majority of Pre Mades are 10 Year Life Long Buddies?

Man, 90% of them are thrown together at an instance, with people from the last 10 Games that didn't suck.

It's a rare group of Pre Made that is the 'Ranked Team' equivalent, and most of those reside in High Elo, or will be there soon enough.

So yeah, buck up and try discussing the game with your team mates. Because once you step on the rift, they are your Team Mates.

Treat them like Strangers, they will BE Strangers... and that IS a disadvantage.

Choose to play and act like a team, you can become a team... and that IS an advantage.

You make a CHOICE to be disadvantaged... that's on you.

And why will everyone rage and yell in a call? If they are doing that, they weren't going to be any help to begin with. Which is WHY we have Dynamic Q, to surround ourselves with people we WANT to play with... not idiot ragers that yell on Voice Chats.

General Esdeath 2 votes

Never said they were 10 year long friends, I'm giving an example. And I don't think I should have to communicate with strangers (some of which won't join anyway so I'm suffering for their choice) to win a game where I meet 9 new people every game.

what elo are you?

if what you say is true, how come pros play together on fixed teams instead of playing solo and getting 5 random pros together? isn't it an advantage, as you say, to play with randoms or a duo? so why don't the pros do this?

SirSmokeysAlot3 votes

I'm just gold. Pros are a whole different beast. Most premades you come against even in your plat 5 life are actually very disorganized.

BluePolarizer3 votes

I'm last season plat 1, and plat 5 this season is harder than playing vs diamonds last season for some reason. Maybe it's because I don't play ranked that much anymore, maybe it's because premades are just horrible to play against.

It's also interesting to me that a 2 season silver is now gold exactly when dynamic queue is introduced.

Ragaren3 votes

Plat 5 ,3, and 1 I feel are the gates. Plat 5 was extremely hard for me since it was crowded with premades, and boosted players.

General Esdeath 9 votes

pro players are at the highest elo and they're all on a similar enough level. Plus most of them have played together in the past and know each other and their play styles. When I watch some pro players like qt, dom, and voy play together, they lose because they're screwing around having fun, as opposed to serious players in lower elo.

KillerKell1 votes

Wait... you are telling me that Randoms can not use Skype or Curse?

Frak, I've been doing it wrong since Pre-Season 4.

Ragaren2 votes

You can request people to get in your skype or curse, but the majority of the time they refuse.

Also forgot to mention the premades have control over bans.

KillerKell1 votes

{quoted}

You can request people to get in your skype or curse, but the majority of the time they refuse.

Also forgot to mention the premades have control over bans.

  1. Not all Pre Made Groups have everyone in Voice Chat.
  2. All you can do is request, you are right. If they refuse, they CHOOSE a Disadvantage. That's on them.
  3. You can discuss bans with your team, which is what Pre Made Groups do.

So your issues are, some people don't want to join calls (happens in Pre Made as well) and Pre Made Groups control Bans (but Solos can discuss Pick/Ban as well).

Now... do you see WHY there is a Dynamic Q?

So those of us that CHOOSE to don't have to be surrounded by people that aren't good team mates... that won't even entertain discussing a Comp or Ban Strategy, that refuse to communicate.

We all have the CHOICE to no play with those types now... to make our gaming experience better for OURSELVES by limiting our exposure to exactly the type of players you are talking about.

And the great thing is, we ALL have that opportunity.

Until, one day, it's only the Trolls and Ragers stuck Solo or Grouping with each other, because all the decent human beings and players are tossing them to the side for actual real players that want to utilize Team Work, Communication and like to try to Win.

If I can help it, I'd rather be able to surround myself with quality than some a-hole that won't participate with the team. I'm not sure why everyone doesn't feel that way.

But if you like getting stuck with those guys... cool. Keep at it. I'll eliminate them every chance I get.

Ragaren2 votes

That's fine, but the problem with dynamic queue is 4 man premades are fighting against groups of randoms. I just had it happen earlier this morning, we managed to win but they still had the advantage.

ofart8 votes

I agree. You have no idea if some guy played only 5s every game and got carried by just not feeding horribly or if they played only solo. Even if hypothetically, said player wasn't getting carried and there's no difference in difficulty, 4s, 5s etc. are still a very different experience from solo play. They stress different skillsets and should not be lumped together as if they're all the same thing. You can't have a valid ranked system with such wild consistency issues. It's pretty silly right now if they want a game people take seriously.

Hmm, I recall that they used to have TEAM RANKED and SOLO QUEUE

billxx1 votes

Ok, other than the fact that the combination of those two queues is cheaper and more effective for a company, dynamic queue is better for the game riot wants( a team game you play with friends because it is infinitely better, at least in my opinion)

And you have several ways to play with your friends.

The whole point of ranked game play is to be able to gauge and hone your skill against similarly-skilled players on a level playing field. For most people, and virtually all of the most dedicated ones, this is where the fun begins. Anything else is pointless.

billxx2 votes

You say most people, while the majority of people who play league don't play ranked. And again, they are trying to change ranked so you play with friends, because that is more fun for the majority of people. If you're having more fun, you'll stay with the game longer.

Atanchan2 votes

What I'm getting out of this is that you don't want solo queue, you just want to make sure that ranked can only be played full premade vs. full premade.

a premade isn't a team.

A team is any 5 people that have been queued together on the same side.

A premade is a part of those five with some sort of out of game affiliation. They are just as likely to be screwing around as they are to have practiced some form of cohesion. The difference is that the solo players thrown in with those premades are stuck along for the ride, whether they want to or not.

The actual queue for Ranked Teams was dismantled in favor of dynamic queue

How is this different from Pick-Up Basketball at the local court, or a game of Tackle Football at the park?

I've never been to a local court/park that kept a running ladder of every player who plays there.

Ultimately, SQ is more like a pick-up game than DQ, and I've used that analogy before. A random bunch of guys who just want to play the game for the sake of playing the game.

Trying to expand the analogy to include premades would be a park with court rules saying you have to play 5 on 5 (cuz really who does that in basketball?), and a group of 3-4 friends that have to pick up a fifth player just to play on the court. They may be there for the social aspect more than the sport, and just screwing around, or they may love basketball and be there for the action. Either way that fifth player is at the mercy of the group of friends, maybe he never gets passed the ball, maybe the friends are laughing and joking and basically ignoring the guy, maybe they are basically ignoring the game as well.

We have normals for this. There's no need, and really no argument, to bring this into ranked game play as a replacement for solo queue ranked, and ranked teams, both of which serve a clear and specific purpose.

We can call dynamic "enchanted normal"

Matchmaking will never be balanced because the idea behind DQ itself is fundamentaly flawed, mixed Q's and fairness just can't co-exist, it will always result in a syntax error.

Why does a Team game get regarded as a Solo player game? I'm honestly sure that half the people who try the Dynamic Que in Ranked try to hold on to the old SoloQ mentality, instead of trying to be friendly and outgoing to cooperate with a team of either solo's or a Premade.

That's not the point dude. Solo players want to play with other solo players with the same parameters of fairness, meaning it is fair to team up with 4 other strangers and cooperate to win the game. That is what solo players want. It is not fair for a team of 5 solo players to play against a pre made 5's team. The advantage is too far tipped towards the pre made of 5.

ModAcademy Kayn3 votes

But that's what Irks me. Sure they have communication better, but that doesn't stop them from losing lane. Their friends may come to try and help, but being a premade doesn't instawin you lane. And if that's the case, there are so simple ways to do that with a non-premade team. Simple things like calling MIA or following when you laner goes into your jungle. If people make an effort to be a team player, instead of focusing on themselves, it should help a considerable amount more.

BluePolarizer7 votes

That means LCS games of 5 random challengers vs. SKT or CLG is completely fair am I right? In fact, the 5 random challengers should have an advantage since they're better at laning.

That means you suggest every Pre Made lives in Game Houses and practice together 10 Hours a day, am I right?

Most Pre Made Groups are made on the fly, with people with in the last 10 Games that didn't suck.

There are very few Dedicated 5 Man Pre Made "Teams"... those that exist are High Elo or will be there soon enough.

The vast majority of Pre Made Groups are you and me... deciding after we had a game together and neither sucked that our chances are better teaming up, then adding more as we go along that day.

Some how, every Pre Made is perceived as Immortals.

BluePolarizer2 votes

In even plat, the premades have enough synergy and communication that it is extremely hard to match with solo players.

And why should the premade 5 be in high elo just for being premade, when last season I climbed my way through plat solo?

Mojihito6669 votes

You cant have 5vs5 team game with a premade of 4.

There MUST be solo player in there and his experience is awful.

BluePolarizer9 votes

I prefer a team game where I cooperate with others who are also solo players.

It is very hard to cooperate with a premade as a solo.
