I'm not sure if it's been said already or not, but I haven't heard much. Are you guys planning anything on Garen atm? I don't mean small buffs/nerfs, but any type of rework (small or large)?

Garen is obviously a problem, since if you buff his stats too much, he becomes broken in lower elo, but if he's nerfed too much, he'll be even more worthless in higher elo. I don't like the fact that it's much harder to play a champion in higher elo just because he doesn't fit in.

So are there any plans made for this guy? The small Garen community and myself have done a lot of brainstorming over how to fix Garen's issues, but I rarely see riot comment on any. So I thought I'd ask you guys directly.

the thing is, that there will always be champions that have very high winrates in low mmr.

the champions with the lowest skill floor (the easiest to pick up and play without having mastered them) will always be the strongest there. a more complex champion like Azir who needs a good bit of practise to do well with even at basic mechanics like csing, will have a lower winrate in the hands of a bad player, than Warwick or Nasus even if there is more mastery to these champions.

the question is if the existence of champions that are "broken" at low mmr should even be regarded as a problem, since the problem is not with the champion, but the average quality of players at that mmr. you cant fix bad players by changing the game around them. its up to them to fix their own play.

lets say Yorick has 60% average winrate in bronze. but the indiviual player can improve his own play and learn how to deal with the champion. just because the champion has 60% chance of winning a bronze game on average, doesnt mean hes going to have as high a chance of winning against you, even when youre playing in a bronze game, if you learned how to play against him.

i think the lowest ranks should be entirely disregarded when it comes to champion balance. its a futile attempt to even try.
