Garen buff

So I've been trying to think of a way to buff garen that not only helps out early game, but makes him an actual threat mid/late game, instead of just being a walking meatshield that can't get a hold of anyone. This buff would mainly affect the HP heavy Garen, the Juggernaut Garen.

His passive, as it stands, is: INNATE: Garen passively regenerates 「 0.2 / 0.8% maximum health every half-second 」. This regeneration is interrupted for 9 / 4 seconds if he takes non-minion damage or if he is hit by an enemy ability.

The regeneration is doubled to 「 0.4 / 1.6% maximum health every half-second 」 while below 25 / 50% of his maximum health.

What I think could be added, and don't take these numbers seriously is: When Garen hits his threshold, at 25/50% of his maximum health, his passive will immediately activate and become uninterruptible for (either x seconds, or until he regenerates x% of his max health)

Think of this as a sort of volibear passive, but a lot weaker, with a shorter cooldown, maybe make it only usable once until his passive manually reactivates on it's own.

OR

Add a new effect to his W, which will basically act the same way as the effect before, but it allows Garen to control it instead of his enemies.

W: DURATION: 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 / 6 For the duration of Garen's W, his passive, Perseverance, will activate and become uninterruptible for the duration.

I personally like the effect added to his W, since it gives Garen more control over when he wants to get either a big damage reduction, a chunk of healing, or if he times it right, both.

Obviously this may be too long of a duration, but I made a previous post about a video Hashinshin made, who suggested they decrease the duration of his W, but also decrease it's cooldown. If they did both of these it would make Garen into an actual threat. If you don't bring him down inbetween W's late game, he'll keep up with intermittent damage and cc blocks, while also healing a chunk of his hp back in the middle of a fight.

Another thing this could lead to is Garen being able to max W in lane. Garen may become the first champion where you have the variety and option to max any of his level one abilities, which could actually help out in his role as a 'noob' champion, since new players may not understand what to max first. This would also REALLY help his ability to stay in lane if he gets beaten. Many champions, like fiora, darius, tryndamere, urgot, shen, maokai, ornn, etc. Are all able to come back and keep laning even if they start to lose. The problem with Garen, though, is that once he falls behind, he just gets beaten into the dust. Honestly I think even Nasus can come back from a lost lane better than Garen can at the moment.

Obviously there are a lot of things Riot could do with Garen to make him more viable, but I've still heard no word from them, so I'll keep posting ideas until something clicks.

Tell me what you guys think.

EDIT: Keep in mind, I thought of this because his current passive name, Perseverance, doesn't really make any sense. To me, Garen seems like the guy that keeps on getting back up when you beat him down, and if you don't kill him, he'll keep getting back up to fight you again. Not the type of guy who runs away mid-fight to go tend to his wounds and then come back when he's feeling all better. Just saying.
