Irelia as a "brusier"

I used to play a ton of irelia and I found that if you played it right and knew your damages you could go toe-to-toe with any of the big boy lane bullies! Darius? More like "Dead"ius. Riven? More like all-EN(her at level 6), Jax was a skill match up in neither's favor.

But now you just get your ass handed to you if you try actually fight the bruisers and god help you if you actually try to fight a juggernaut!

I like her but i don't understand why it's such a 180 from her old power. Maybe I'm just not getting it. But I feel SO weak in lane.

I feel more like an assassin with no early game damage than a bruser.

The new design is supposed to be weak in lane because of her huge late game capabilities. Riot seems to be favoring away from late game scaling lane bullies... except Cait. The new bruisers and reworks seem to favor less than powerful laning phase, and a really good late game.
