why doesnt riot just remove in-game chat? Pings can communicate more, take less time, and cannot be toxic if muteable! [slayer-jinx-catface]

They should add a system with tons of different pre-written messages, like ''I'm going to split push''. I've seen a couple of games use it.

because then they wont get more money from people with banned accounts making new accounts and buying the same shit they had before lol

"Since everyone hates screaming babies, let's remove all airplanes!"

Pings are great and all, but it's not exactly rare to get players who need things typed out for them because they aren't following what you are trying to say, even something as simple as "top laner, come get Rift Herald" and certainly much less for anything even slightly more complex than that.

It's senseless to remove a widely useful system just because there are problem cases that can be handled or simply ignored.

Mutes aren't too inconvenient if needed. With the complexity and game-length commitment of league, I like to be able to learn something about my team-mates' personalities through joking around, little bits of theory-crafting comments, advice and apologies. Chat serves a lot of purposes, and if people were quicker to hit that mute button, I don't think toxic chat would be an issue.
