Is match making out of whack ?

Can somebody explain me, why me as gold player with a win streak in G5 was dropped with 4 silver players, whom one of them had a 1st game since December and 2nd never ever played Ahri before. Needless to say, this game was atrocious as hell and not a bit of fun. How RIOT expects players to "enjoy" and not to be toxic when their match making makes such a disparity in the first place without even giving a hope to win and forcing to "play" waste 20 and more minutes?
