How to become a better Caitlyn player?

Hi everyone!

I main ADC. I enjoy playing Ashe, Sivir, MF. Recently I also fell in love with Xayah and her ablility to oneshot people. I also like to duel as an ADC thus, I have almost 400k mastery points on Kindred. However, there's one ADC champion that I can't play for shit. Caitlyn.

I have 5 mastery on her but that's only because I wanted to finally learn her. She can't be that hard, huh? Long range, easy poke, sick headshot dmg. You can't go wrong with her... Sure. But everytime I play her I suck. I just can't fully utilize her damage.

I know more or less how do I do so, but for some reason it doesn't work for me. I have 80% crit and you know what... 4 autoattacks in a row are not crits. I have no luck for critting and I have no idea how to efficiently place traps so the enemy won't even notice it.

Cait mains... Halp. Share some Cait tips and tricks with me so I could become decent with her. I like this champion, I like to make people pull their hair out cuz of all the cancer I'm giving them with her kit. I watched some guides on YT, read few guides too. But I don't feel like I've learned anything new.

Regards, worst Cait EUNE.

There are a couple major mistakes I see most new Cait players make:

-They don't weave traps between their autoattacks. Traps are a large part of your damage in teamfights and the CC/zoning is amazing. Use them

-In addition to the E>Q animation cancel, you can also do E>W. This is better for kiting away and can often get you a triple headshot (one normally, one from net, one from trap), which is a HUGE amount of damage.

-Use your range in lane. Seriously. Stop sitting back as Cait. When the enemy adc goes for a cs, hit them. They either have to just take it for the cs, or they walk farther up on you and auto you back. If they do that, then they're going to take another auto when they run away because of your longer range. If they try to all in, just E>W.

Weaving her traps in between auto-attacks can be really strong in fights. It's pretty mechanically intensive and takes some attention to detail to pull off.

Here's a video outlining it. The video also goes over Lucian tips & tricks.

Go to op.gg and download high elo replays.

Also check out some high elo players playing her, and see how they're moving their mouse in comparison to you
