@RiotRepetoir, Couple of Questions regarding mid and Assassins.

  1. Why are you making waveclear more difficult? - So I watched the latest episode of The Dive with the NA casters discussing 8.6. and they brought up the minion tweaks you reverted before the patch released and they said some things like "because waveclear gets difficult, champs with good waveclear become even more powerful". But the thing is, we already have a hard scaling control mage meta in the mid lane thanks to the new Archangels and now you even want to emphasize more on that meta. What is gonna happened to champions with poor waveclear? What's gonna happened to Assassins? When is it their turn in the spotlight?

  2. Have you considered making Zed and Talon viable in the Jungle? - Related to this change and the fact that they have difficulties when it comes to lane phase and metas like these. Basicly, almost all AD Assassins except for these two are being played in the Jungle as their main role. Because of that they can't really become effective because of their poor laning phase. Since every AD Assassin is being played in the jungle, wouldn't it be better to just move them to the jungle aswell? You can do that by f.e. make their abilities do bonus damage to monsters.

Honestly, riot needs to rework lethality. I can't understand how anyone would think that it is ok that spending 1100-1200 gold on one defensive item rush (Tabi or Seeker's) is enough to counter 5800 Gold worth of lethality which AD assassins won't even get till mid game.

As much as I Iove Talon as a champion, he has really been getting the short end of the stick since mid last season. First we had the ardent censer meta, where everyone was playing shielders support and utility mages mid (Like malz) making it insanely hard for assassins to function. back then Talon himself was fine, the meta just didn't suit him. Then we had runes rework and Talon lost his main keystone (Stormraiders) as well as the lethality runes, which was a huge blow but I thought we could make him still work since lethality items were buffed. Then we had the Targon meta, which made ADC pretty much unburstable for an Ad assassin who needs his R to function (long cooldown). Then Lethality items got nerfed again and the stopwatch meta started, which means that not only could people facetank you, but now they also got a free stopwtach to stop your lvl 6 snowball. Then stopwatch meta ended and right when I thought Talon could finally be good again, Riot introduced bone plating. And with duskblade nerf as of 8.6, and the upcoming locket rework it pretty much feels like the final nail in the coffin for Talon.

Honestly, I have given up on the champ. Unless some huge changes are made to Ad assassin items or Talon is made into an AP champion there is simply no reason to play him when other Ap assassin's like Diana can one-shot just as hard while not putting your team at the risk of being full AD.

What Zed and Talon needs is a strong lanephase, Moreso Zed than Talon since talon is designed to just roam. AD assassins are meant to be strong early who fall off late, but currently lack a means to push and affect the map unless they are really ahead. Giving them more ways to affect the map would be a buff to high level zed/talon play but wouldn't change how they are at lower elo.

I think if they made zed Q deal 100% damage to minions and monsters even when it passes through them with a w cd buff to 18 sec instead of 22 would be a great start. For talon i feel like a W cd buff to 6sec would help him out with pushing and roaming.

AD mid Assasins is a class that riot gave up on, hell Kayne is the first AD assassin we had released in years, literally years, and he's a jungler, not a laner. Expect to never see a new mid ad assassin ever again, and for Zed and Talon to always be in this weird "op, not op" state

Move them into the jungle. AD assassins go mid to use their strong early all-in to snowball off the immobile squishies that usually go there and then try to carry from mid. It’s not fun for the squishies, and so Riot has to make and maintain lots of counter-items and counter-runes, which made playing as such assassins un-fun.

Think of it this way. Zed and Talon can’t go top. They can’t jungle. They can’t support. They’re not marksmen. They can literally only go midlane and do the above because they’re outclassed everywhere else. They need a new role, and I think the jungle would suit them best.
