Whats up with Irelia's disarm?

I can swear the thing is the most bugged debuff in the game, It NEVER works, I always get auto attacked by a disarmed enemy and usually it leads to deaths because you rely on it to have time to deal your damage or try to shut down a fed (ad)carry. Am i the only one who is experiencing this?
