Speaking as someone who plays a lot of Support
If you're the support, build a Sightstone and build it early.
This is not optional.
If you're the support, build a Sightstone and build it early.
This is not optional.
And let me guess, if I don't then you'll report me right?
No, but I will silently judge you.
Do you silently judge bruiser and tank junglers who don't? :<
No. And why would they build Sightstone over Tracker's Knife?
Some may prefer chilling or challenging smite.
shrugs
Before we had tracker's knife, would you have judged bruisers or tank junglers for not taking sightstone?
Certainly sightstone is an essential support item, but there are cases where you might not take it until later or at all. My real issue here is that the attitude should be "Use your warding tools" rather than "Get sightstone as supports", because one is universal and the other is an attitude for something that every support player already knows and is getting tired of hearing. There's more people who don't use their warding tools or buy pink wards than people who don't buy sightstone when they should be, and frankly it's often the former bitching too.
It's a bit tiresome, to be honest. We get it. Sightstone good. The real problem is people who put down an average of three wards a game, can we focus on that please?
First of all, I am a support player, and it's quite distressing how many people I see go support and not get Sightstone, especially when their lane is getting camped by the jungler.
I feel the same way about laners who don't use wards at all in the same situation.
Although, whatever, you're definitely not wrong. Blegh, I'm just getting my knickers in a twist.
I disagree.
Depending on how my bot lane is going, sometimes I deliberately put
back a few places until I have a few other more situationally useful items. Until then I use mine/ADC trinket as well as pink ward to get by.
I will see your silent judgement and raise you my secret list of reasons for not religiously rushing
like a zombie.
For me there's literally no reason not to now. With the new tier 3 support items why would you NOT want to have all the benefits you were getting from your Nomad's or Targon's on top of 4 refillable wards?
It's a no brainer man.
With the new sight stone upgrades i don't see why supports aren't building it. I use to play support when i have to and not building sight stone because it wasn't fun for me. (usually ap supports like zyra and annie.) But building watchers was fun because it gave me damage while being useful to my team's vision and a little hp :).
