How to make every champion balanced and relevant
I envision a day where every chess piece's passive will become modified in such an intuitive way where summoner spells will tweak passives to clearly define roles in team comp.
Such as carrying ignite as the burst / assassin, you may have access to a reset or cdr on champion kill.
Exhaust could allow for utility scaling similar to Lulu's W, if not some defensive scaling like HP or better yet Movement Speed (huge buff to boots of mobi for a strong engage from supports who catch an enemy out) on abilities.
Heal could provide some mana return on abilities that could assist for wave clear upon killing a minion similar to Annie's Q.
Clarity could provide some total mana scaling onto an ability.
Ghost could provide mvmt speed upon landing single target abilities
Teleport could provide the old Runic Blessing mastery ( +50 hp sheild after spawning, lol kidding can you believe someone at rito thought that was a great idea?)
Forreals though
TP could provide a mvmt/atk speed effect similar to the old GP E to Raise Morale or Nunu's W to assist in boosting minions for the split push power
Cleanse could provide a weak spell shield to reduce/block CC passively while some ability is passively off CD (similar to Blitzcrank's Ultimate passive)
I feel Barrier would provide a similar condition requiring an ability to be off cd, but would benefit from providing something similar to a Randuin's Omen reducing attack speed of the attacking Champion.
{{summoner:2}} Clairvoyance could allow for a bonus pink ward to make this relevant again. Maybe?
Smite could allow for some passives and abilities to apply bonus damage to jungle creeps. This one I feel really is hard to shroud a ubiquitous balance for all potential junglers the same way there is now 4 smites to upgrade into. However a great example I have for this is the potential Fiora could have to be relevant in the jungle if her passive could proc on large jungle creeps for 1/3rd the %hp it deals to champions on the condition she was carrying smite as well.
if i recall correctly flash is the last summoner unlocked by leveling up champs and essentially a must have for everyone except rare top laners and powerful junglers who alone will not require an incentive to take Ignite / Exhaust / TP and such would be required to unlock additional passive effects from those summoners. Clearly allowing for Clarity, Barrier, Clairvoyance, and Cleanse to be exempt from this rule would allow for new players to be introduced to the idea in stages.
I thought of this all in a handful of minutes and a single sitting, definitely open to your thoughts. But this change could make champion roles more clear and the game all together more intuitive for learners and skillful for lcs. Now it's you who is summoned, what are your thoughts?
