League client really needs to break better.
I understand that sometimes the client is going to crash. It's inevitable with any complex program. But when it does crash, it should be easier to refresh and reset.
As things are, when the client crashes, it
- Will often lock you out of using the rest of your computer. Even just failing to connect in the loading screen makes the game refuse to tab out and refuse to exit, making it impossible to reset the program without rebooting your entire computer. This makes even very brief internet outages crippling.
- "Attempting to reconnect" NEVER WORKS. I don't know why you bother, just close the damn program so I can open it again because the actual internet connection is rarely the problem.
- The game takes WAY too long to realize that something failed. I have to sit and watch the loading screen because the game itself can't tell me "oh wait this obviously isn't working, let's try something else".
I understand that it's counterintuitive to make crashes more user friendly, but this is one place where league is way behind the curve. Any other program crashes, I press ctrl-alt-delete and end it, worst case. League FORCIBLY TABS YOU BACK INTO A BLACK SCREEN REPEATEDLY if you try this or any other non-reboot method of resetting. It's dumb as hell.
