Rioters: "Thoughtful, respectful posts are the way to attract Riot attention."

BobaFlautist·3/13/2019, 8:01:14 PM·136 votes·24,378 views

"We won't engage if your post is just targeted insults and wild accusations. We take our responsibility to encourage constructive board discussion seriously"

Also Rioters: Proceed to completely ignore 10 million constructive carefully thought out feedback and discussion threads in favor of responding only to the brainless, reactionary temper-tantrums with @A Given Rioter in the title that mostly consist of accusing Riot of intentionally making their game worse for some convoluted motivation that we've been trying to eliminate from the Gameplay Board since it was created.

Seriously, you guys have to step it up. You keep rewarding the worst behavior in the boards, of course it's hard to establish a culture of respectful discussion when Reds keep rewarding the malcontents that only ever show up right after losing a game, still frothing at the mouth, to accuse Riot Games™ of accepting undeclared campaign contributions from Sona mains or whatever. The boards have their own problems, but you've consistently made it worse by failing to stick to your claimed policy of only responding to genuine discussion.

They had Gameplay+ where, supposedly, only high quality topics were approved. They rarely commented even in there. Five pages of posts on my topic about the weakness of Support gold gen items, and I got one Rioter response. I'm glad I got a comment, but more feed back, or even some discussion, would have been nice.

You're right, and I should have actually responded to one of the other Riven-related threads a few days ago. Good call.

I'll admit it is frustrating when (besides this Asol/Riven stuff) the last time major balance discussion happened across the entire community (Reddit, Boards and otherwise) was when Hashinshin told Riot to kill themselves.

Just look at this Gameplay board. In 10 pages of threads, the only one with a Riot response is "Riot Repertoir lies about xxx". Know what the next response 11 pages down is about?

Hextech crafting.

I really want to see these so called 10 million constructive threads you are talking about. Boards is literally 95% dumpster fire threads with 5% that could be considered actual constructive ones. Too bad that the good threads are lost in the sea of terribleness and there is really no way to tell one good thread from a terrible one apart. Not riot's problem that the boards is nothing but a cesspool of hate and really bad bias

Rioter: We are making X/Y/Z champion rework. We really need your feedback! Players: [Shares mostly unhappy Feedback] Rioter: - user left the chat 2 months later and 0 changes to the reworked abomination of champion people used to love to play Rioter: Stop being toxic! it's not MY fault!11 I did nothing wrong!

Farewell teemo, was fun while it lasted

Calling out Rioter's on bad behavior isn't the "worst behavior in the boards". It's one of the good things we can do on the boards.

and to make things worse Riot Staff wont even reply to a topic or even make themselves known except to edit it and say "i have removed such and such cause it violates this rule".

This post will be it's own testament on how true this is.

The big issue is that they keep ignoring no matter how mature and civil and constructive you make it, they will still ignore.

They just don't take our frustration about the game into consideration (since when they even did anyway).

And eventually the community will be angry and get pissed off. As someone who's majoring in advertising and marketing, they sure don't have any idea how to listen to customers which will be their own doom but that won't happen because...China and Asian servers.

They don't care what we have to say, those posts about 'we only respond to polite posts are BS'. They don't respond to any posts that don't fit their pre-conceived notions.

There's only 1 way that's been proven to get the attention of a business. That's stop spending money. Don't watch their twitch streams, don't buy skins, don't give them money and they WILL respond. Everything else is just naive futility.
