Tips/Tricks for Poppy, Zyra, Zed

Hey guys! I'm a fairly new player (level 24). I was wondering if anyone had some tips and tricks like advanced combos, items, and gameplay for Zed, Zyra, and Poppy. I main these champs, and I think I'm decent with zyra and poppy, but unless I snowball early, I usually go negative or even with zed.

Thanks!

Veno

I'm not a Zed player so I can't help you on that front.

Poppy is an awesome laner and a great teamfighter. A lot of her kit is centered around the size of her HP pool, so opting for Titanic Hydra over Ravenous Hydra and building like a tanky bruiser is typically the best course of action. An example of a build that, I find, works quite well is something along the lines of item 3748item 3025item 3156item 3053item 3071item 3111--lots of durability and lots of damage. The three most important factors that differentiate good Poppy players from stellar ones are timing your W to block initiation/escapes, proper use of your Ult, and taking advantage of terrain to land stuns. Poppy is extremely good at weaving in and out of lane-trades with her opponent, especially melee ones that lack a ranged poke, and can chunk a sizeable amount of health with her Q+AA+Titanic active+Undying Grasp. Just practice with her a lot and it should come to you.

The best advice I can give regarding Zyra is to send her botlane and build her like an ADC--the enemy team won't see it coming!

Zed is very ult reliant for his kill combo. Its pretty much ult -> W (for another shadow or W into ult but usually Ult -> W) -> E -> Q -> return cast ult. If you see this appear over the targets head (one over annie): http://www.arcana-gaming.com/content/arcana/upload/League%20of%20Legends/zed_r_indicator.jpg Then you should know that you will very likely get the kill.

Zed mostly relies on knowing your opponents and then outplaying what they can do (not a problem since his w buff unfortunatelly) in an all in, until you can all in them you just farm and poke... for teamfights later on however he really relies on you knowing your limits (energy and cds)+using the ult more often than not for distraction/just to dodge while getting to the target you really want...he really needs quite some experience and it´ll take time to master him (though as it is zed, he´ll probably has to be 100%pick&ban at S6worlds till Riot will maybe take him down to a reasonable level, so he might be worth the effort).

he´s still easier than poppy though once you reach higher elos.

Have no idea about Zyra or Zed, but I can tell you alllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll about Poppy.

Do you have any questions in particular? You say you're already decent with her, so what issues do you have?

Mid Zyra: Start Q as it's your main damage besides your plants. I usually rush Luden's as my main damage item and get ROA second. If against a Zed or someone similar, rush Zhonya's. Zyra is known for her great poke, AOE damage, and CC ability, but as you know she's mega squishy so beware of it. That's why building tanky is great on her, just like Annie. Her root doesn't last as long compared to say Morg, but it roots more than one person, which Morg doesn't have. My combo is EWQW then R and if that doesn't delete your mid enemy laner than also add ignite. Also Rylai's is great on her as her plants proc the slow and that also gives her a form of soft CC along with her root. Morello's burn is also proced by the plants. That's all I can think of right now.

Support Zyra: Start E. Poke with your plants but always keep your E open in case a jungler ganks or the enemy bot laners try to go in on you. Get Frost Queen, Ruby Sightstone, and your choice of boots, and somewhere in that line start the items for ROA, and finish it after you get your support items. Then you can pick and choose what items to get, like Locket if against AP heavy, or Zeke's against AD. You can go for more damage too.

honestly as a new player i would say wait until you know the game better over all and then go back to zed as assassin tend to be fragile and unforgiving and so feel bad to play when you get behind they also benefit form a good understand of your opponent as a new player you are probably still working on yourself and your own fundamentals.

poppy is a good champion to work on and can teach you alot of good basics about league and i personally like zyra but she can have a rough time being slow so just be aware of that when you are struggling in matches and learn what you need to do to stay safe while still out putting damage.
