Many of those "OP" champions are weak to non-meta champions. Maybe your list of favorites is just missing the ones that are currently effective.

But the majority of OP solo-queue champions are non-meta. Donger, Warwick, Fiddlesticks, Soraka, Tryndamere, etc.
