Upcoming "Remake" Function

So apparently Rito's going to start testing soon on a "remake" function, which will basically allow teams who have a AFK/DC to drop their present game without penalty and "remake" by adding a fifth to the team and re-queuing. The stipulations as they state?

  • AFK/DC is only noted by being unresponsive for at least 90 seconds within the first three minutes of a game.
  • No First Blood happens in that three minutes (executions to monsters don't count, has to be a player kill).

Even before it hits testing I can see the abuse here. Being in Bronze, players get super salty even at champion select. Runs the gambit of someone not getting their role, taking a completely out-of-meta pick which has a much greater chance to fail due to lack of understanding all the mechanics even to intentional banning of a teammate's pick (seen it happen). I can completely see such a player immediately run to an area where the jungler and leashing teammates will be or even too late and let the enemy team kill him/her well before the three minute mark.

And the usual counter-argument is "Well they'll get punished/banned". Pretty sure we all know how well this has worked so far. For a F2P game you aren't really stuck to a single account. Heck I'd wager the average player has at least 2 - 3 alt accounts (or more), and you can easily troll/abuse on one of those without fear of losing skins you acquired on your "main" account.

Just pointing out how abuse can happen within such a system. May want to work on some contingencies going forward in that testing.

If that player is salty enough to run to the enemy, give up FB, and DC, what makes you believe they will actually play the game normally? They would just DC or feed even if the system weren't in place, so you're damned either way.

Expect this system isn't suppose to combat troll pick. It's suppose to be for people who doesn't connect to the game.

Sadly we still don't have anything to combat trolls, but that is a touchy subject. Some times they are smart enough to know feeding and going AFK is a fast way to get ban especially if you announce it in chat!
