Losing much more LP than I gain

When I first started playing ranked it was within minutes of hitting lvl 30. I don't reccomend this as I went straight to B3 and than proceeded to fall to B5. Recently I've gotten slightly better and made my way into B4. In B5 I was getting around 20 LP for winning and losing about the same for a loss. Now in B4 I get around 10 LP for a win and 20+ for a loss. Can someone tell me what is going on? Thanks.

Your mmr is shot, you gotta keep winning games to bring it up. Its to balance it out. Just keep winning games.

Your MMR sucks.

you need to consider your win loss record. if you have many more losses than wins, you probably won't gain much LP per win.

It basically means that right now, your MMR(or your ELO) is lower then where you are currently placed. The system feels that with your current mmr, you should probably be in B5, but because you won enough times, you were able to get into B4. The way to remedy this is to just keep winning. Eventually it will recognize you are where you "belong" and give you equal win/loss distribution in LP.

As for ranking, ya you should probably take a break from it and practice in normals. Just hitting level 30 doesn't mean ANYTHING except that final quint slot and mastery point. You need a LOT more experience if you want to actually get a decent placement in ranked (gold+).

Ranked is the best way to learn in my opinion. I started playing ranked as soon as I got enough champs (nobody ever tells you not to waste money on runes until it's too late....I got level 30 but didn't have enough champs to play ranked lol). I was placed in bronze, duh, and failed to bronze 5 as well. Good times, good times. You learn a lot more from ranked since SOME people are actually trying. In normals, it's mostly just people messing around. I eventually got into silver at the end of S3. I was placed back into bronze with S4 placements, and climbed up into silver really quickly, where I spent most of my time. I eventually reached gold at the end of this season. You will eventually start to get better, and you LP gains will get better.
