Anyone else tired of getting trolled in ranked?

I was in promos for gold about a week ago with a 54% winrate.... Today I dropped to Silver III. The reason? Lag and trolls.

Tonight, I was sitting at Silver II 0 LP and decided, what the heck, I'll see if I can stop the downward spiral and try to win a game. I played three warmup games, wiinning all three, and made sure I wasn't getting any lag (best ping I've had in a while actually). Queue up, get a solid looking team, get one of my main roles, and then the shit hits the fan yet again....

Game starts with jungler's red getting invaded, so he's pissed off. Our Riven DCs multiple times due to high ping. Our mid laner dies a couple times early. No problem, I don't throw in the towel and focus on my lane. I'm determined to win no matter what. I end up getting ahead, despite being laned against an obvious smurf / booster / account sharer (some Silver IV guy who went from losing nonstop to suddenly hard carrying every game with double digit kills and Diamond-level CS). Things were going really well.

At one point, I'm 5-0 on Corki and already have my TF. Our Thresh is being way too aggressive, though (maybe the success in our lane went to his head, I don't know), and it's starting to throw our lead away. We ask him to just dial it back a bit and play safer, as he had already died about 4 times, most of which were avoidable. His response? "Okay. I'm just going to stand there, no hooks or anything." So he does exactly that, and just stands in the lane, letting the enemy adc walk right up to him and kill him.

There's no reasoning with him at this point, he's decided he's going to throw the game, all because we asked him to just play a bit safer? He tells us, "Oh, you think this is trolling? I'll give the enemy team 10 kills each." I pick up four more kills, putting me at 9-0 and the guy refuses to even come out of the spawn... WITH A 9-0 ADC and legitimate chance to win the game.

So, we end up losing the 4v5, of course. Thresh sat in spawn for the rest of the game, typing to us the whole time, joking with the enemy team to report him, etc. I end up going 10-2-1, but we just couldn't hold back the other team once they realized the advantage they had.

I wish I could say this was an isolated experience, but this has been happening the MAJORITY of the ranked games I've played in the last couple of weeks. Maybe it's due to end of the season trolling, where people have given up on advancing and decided it's more fun to just stop others from getting ahead. Whatever the case, I'm DISGUSTED by the behavior I've encountered from players like this. People like this have absolutely no business playing ranked and deserve to be permanently banned for purposely throwing ranked games.

I'm positive I'm not the only one running into this... Over the weekened, I had at least two other games where a player went afk on purpose or just left, and in both games we were in a position to win. At this point, I may just give up on this season and hope they find a better way to deal with this nonsense next season. If they don't, I'm not sure I want to play League anymore.... too frustrating.
