Ranked Promo Series BUG - ATTN Riot

Made it to game three of Silver II promos and matchmaking filled both teams with unranked players in their PLACEMENT matches (with the exception of myself and my duo partner). Every single player except for the two of us was unranked (the entire enemy team had a total of 6 ranked wins, while the three players on our team had a total of 8)

Some of these guys were obviously new to ranked and very inexperienced (our top Kayle fed like crazy and lost lane to a Cho'Gath that built JUNGLE items). The other team had a couple smurfs on it who were playing snowball champs and there wasn't really anything we could do to carry the game once they started farming our inexperienced teammates.

I can only assume this is a bug (I'd say a pretty serious one, as it undermines the whole ranking system). I don't know if the system somehow mixed up placement and promo queues, or what happened. I definitely feel robbed of my series, though, as there was an obvious and substantial gap in skill level among players in the game that heavily favored the other team's comp.

Anyone run into this before? I'd submit a ticket if I thought the loss might be reverted (it should be). Really disappointed to get trolled like this after pulling an all-nighter and finally getting some traction in ranked after a miserable week of bad games. C'mon Riot....

Usually it'll try to fill players who are doing their placement matches together and fill the remaining slots with players in the same MMR range.

You queued up for your game around 7:50EDT (4:50PDT) on a Sunday morning. That's awfully early for most of the region.

tl;dr: Offpeak matchmaking is strange.

IMO, somebody in their promos should never get two full teams of people in their placement matches. i don't care what time of day it is. The whole point of the promotion series should be to test you against players who are ranked higher, to see if you can perform at the same level. If nobody else in the game has even finished their placements yet, that is an awful environment for determining if somebody with an established MMR should be promoted or not.

Ideally, you'd want to have full teams of people with at least 50+ ranked games played and somewhat established MMRs. Otherwise, what's the point of the promotion series at all if it's just an arbitrary roadblock?
