So how does Sated Devourer make ADCs competent junglers?

Been doing some Normal (Draft) games, and a few times now I've gotten ADCs like Kalista or Vayne jungling. These were never viable, but apparently Sated Devourer makes them "completely OP". Can someone explain why a jungle ADC is suddenly a viable, even "OP" choice now? I don't think Sated Devourer's done anything to improve their jungle survivability or improve their jungle clearing, but I'm only Silver. I may not be understanding the true strength of ADCs dying to counter-jungling.

It's also the first day of the patch, people are trying new things. But really, it's the Sated Devourer's double on-hit proc, every other AA. Which makes certain champs, including Vayne and Kalista, look broken on paper.

Kalista gets more spears, Vayne gets more true damage procs.

Twitch Twitch Twitch Twitch Twitch with a devourer > bork > hurricane build hes doing half his damage in magic damage and with his huge attack speed hes getting tons of bonus damage off on multiple targets.

hurricane could potentially be replaced with a shiv for heavy jungle or single target priorities.

just think of the true damage stacks on twitch's passive too. 5 stack contaminate? no problem.

lets do some math here, those items combined are around 1.7ias, or for twitch with his Q up its 2ias++. (or more pending what level twitch is) so, devourer has 60+ bonus magic damage, assuming it just procd into sated.

bork does 8% health in phys damage per auto, or now does 24% in 3 autos.

and hurricane will hit all 3 targets for that 10phys(ruunan base)+30 magic(50% from sated) + 8% phys per auto + half your base AD, well assume you have none but runes so you have 120~ at this level.

so if we get 3 auto attacks off, with 2ias, it would take a second and a half, so in 1.5seconds time we would deal 360+ 240magic damage from devourer + 24% of their base health. and we would apply 4 stacks of twitch's passive, so we could contaminate for 80 + 140 (35 per stack x4 applied stacks) +24% of their health in physical damage.

the grand total of 820 damage, +24% health damage over 1.5seconds. (add in the bonus procs on either the first and third, or just the second auto attack for increased damage)

now if we had 2 more targets to hit with hurricane bolts the damage would be 300damage (half of the 360+240) to each from the auto attacks, but contaminate would be the same for all 3 targets for 220 each.

NOW IF TWITCH WERE TO USE HIS ULTIMATE, AND EACH BOLT OFF OF HURRICANE NOW HAS PIERCING AS WELL, TWITCH WOULD APPLY STACKS LIKE CRAZY AND PROC MULTIPLE ON HIT EFFECTS AT THE SAME TIME FOR TONS OF DAMAGE, LITERALLY TONS OF DAMAGES, ALL THE DAMAGES WOULD BE HAD WITH THIS BUILD AND MULTIPLE TARGETS TOGETHER

i can not stress enough how much bonus damage twitch would be dealing with this. with an IE, and a LW, and a filler item of choice twitch would melt whole teams by himself.

every single bolt pierce of twitch procs bork and other on hit damage, ruunans also now gains piercing and ALSO procs on hit damages, this gives twitch the opportunity to proc multiple on hit effects at once. bolts of differing targets can go to other targets that you are currently hitting with the main bolt because the hurricane bolts gain PIERCING. its literally going to be tons of damages.

People are sheep. It wasn't unviable before, as long as your support goes with you jungling and you place a bruiser 1v2 bot, and it isn't unviable now, as long as your support goes with you jungling and you place a bruiser 1v2 bot.

Well, they are strong if the enemy DOESNT counter jungle and the fact that many adc have strong onhit effect or can build them makes them devestating later into the game where they may outshine their lane counterparts because of devourer.

Kinda like how cinderhulk is for tanks, but with devourer you actually have to get stacks to get it sated which means it cant be abused like Runeglaive and cinder in lane.

I'm going to try a Kog'Maw ADC smite bot lane thing. Not sure when to get Devourer, but I have a feeling it should be a 1st item build then onto BoRK. Just taking out the cannons will stack it with time.

It only really works on those 2 because of one simple mechanic. Sated devourer applies on-hits twice every other AA, for an average of 1.5 on-hits per attack. Vayne and Kalista rely heavily on their on-hit mechanics (for Vayne, it allows her to proc her silver bolts every 2 hits instead of 3, and for Kalista, she gets 50% more rends stacks allowing her to deal far higher burst much more quickly), and Sated devourer is tailored to on-hit centric champions, making this a very potent item on them both. They're pretty much the only ADCs it would work on though.

It's a missunderstanding, adc were not viable a junglers not because thy couldn't survive the clear, but because they didn't get enough gold to scale up hard enough to make up for their little ganking pressure. With sated, champs like vayne have a way to scale up massivly without needing to much gold, so they can makup for their little early pressence with a massive mid-late compared to usuall junglers.

The reason people are trying it is because of the double on hit effect, which on certain adc is actually really good like Vayne who would be able to proc silver bolts every other auto orKogMaw with double bio arcane barrage on every other auto, however just because they benefit greatly from the passive doesn't mean that that champion is any good at jungling. Like how Vayne silver bolts are coped at 200 damage against monsters to prevent jungle vayne being a thing

TL;DR It doesn't make add any better at jingling they just want the sated devourer of dat double on hit
