If you look at the art, Leona holds her shield in the right hand and her sword in her left. However, as seen here: http://2.bp.blogspot.com/--eqTaN2T3To/VdzC5bai2NI/AAAAAAAAwZw/rLbMzOkvPac/s640/grr.jpg

Leona actually has her shield in her LEFT hand in-game, and her sword in her RIGHT.

And that, my fellows, bothers me. Rito pls fix.

Rioters have explained, previously, that splashes don't always reflect the in game models when it comes to these kind of stuff, because the splash artists find these stuff fitting with the composition (another example is Gentleman Gnar's monocle), so they will usually do this kind of stuff on purpose, rather than staying 100% true to the models.

Mirror the splash art so it's facing the opposite direction. Problem solved.

Riot has actually stated before that they don't give a damn if splash art reflects the in-game model accurately or not as long as it looks pretty.

Think of it as if it's a mirror. When you look into a mirror, your left is still on YOUR left, which makes it seem like it's the mirror's right arm rather than left. That'd be my guess.

I would prefer leona to be a left handed swordswomen myself. And this isn't the first time the splash has been backwards. Riot does this all the time.

Artists tend to flip their work around while drawing. It helps find inconsistencies and warped anatomy. You'll see it a lot in speedpaint videos.

Often times, they keep the flipped version as the final one.

Like the jinx pic with the tattoos on the wrong side, or Heartseeker Ashe, whith trynd having his heart on the wrong side

There is no such thing as perfection. Period.

Supposedly, the Superb Villain noted that all of the Project Skins (except Yasuo) are in the same scene, and that they are in the same battle zone.

The only exception is Leona though she's just at a further distance (she is the yellow light glowing at the edge of Fiora's splash)

They flip splashes all the time to make them look better for loading screen cards, etc. If you flip the splash around the weapons will be in the correct hands, but for whatever reason it seems Riot decided they wanted her to be facing a certain direction for the splash when displayed in-game.
