Normals use a separate elo than ranked. If a Diamond 5 started playing ranked at level 30, back when he was bronze elo, he will stay in bronze in normals. Ranked stats do not carry over.
Likewise, if someone played their placements, got placed in bronze, then only played normal and won 70 games in a row, they would have Diamond mmr in normals and bronze mmr in ranked.
So please stop asking the same questions over and over.

Gary B Enkelis1 votesI don't have a problem with it and if the Diamond whomps people in normals then their MMR will rise and n00bs won't match against them except rarely (I feel). Diamonds and above are a small portion of the community anyway so the chance of encountering them is already low I'd guess.
Actually I forgot about if they group with a n00b. I don't know how MMR calculates then.
Actually, I'd like facing and grouping with Diamonds when I'm less skilled because it's a great learning opportunity.

like a diamond player should being against bronze/silvers or unranked players. however in a normal game a gold plat and diamonds together are fine.
silvers.golds and plats in same game are fine.

oSEXYPLATYPUSo1 votesi mean its just not a fair and balanced game other wise.. look i dont play rank and some people say its cuz im scared cuz im bad... but why would that scare me? lol i dont play rank cuz i dont care about the rank system. last season i got silver in placements and had a win rate of 60% in rank but only played 15 games. that is how little i ranked and to be honest i only did that to get the end of season rewards.
i play normals just for fun im not that overly competitive about the game to rank , however i do have 2200+ wins and i get placed with golds/plats regularly in rank and the diamond player at least a few times a week. im i as good as a diamond player ... lol fuk no... im an average player at best but for me to be matced with the diamond player and get my ass kicked for 30 mins while im getting flamed for feeding while im legit getting out played by a better player is no fun either.

Sounds like you getting flamed is more of a behavior problem with your team mates and less a problem with MMR. I dunno.

but i am willing to admit im not as good as a diamond player and never claim to be ... i can hold my own vs most golds and some plats. but diamond is above me. and getting kicked in the teeth all game trying just isnt that fun.

Keep playing Normals vs Diamonds. If you're lower than Diamond then it's a good opportunity to get better.

Maybe because i dont want to feed and stay dead most of the game. I dont learn anything from getting killed by high elo players. Its not fun and not fair. A matched with one team with only bronze vs anotger with plat its lost from the start. Its a waiste of my time and my nerves.
Illabethe2 votesIt's REALLY not. The snowballs start early, fast, and hard, and they usually only play reset champs.
In other words, by the time you are level 10, mid Katarina is level 15 with 20+ kills and not stopping while there is 0 counterplay to her because a Diamond player her can jump knives faster than your champ's skill shot moves (ie nothing you can do about it).
They also know how to cross massive distances in a short period of time, by using everything in your environment to turn what should be a "play safe" strategy into "You weren't in base so you weren't safe enough." Strategy.
P.S. The smurf count is NOT low. They are actively releveling accounts, because of bans, and not playing ranked actively because the MMR/LP scaling in high elo sucks.
About the only thing you WILL learn: Specialize in Talon/Katarina/Zed/Kha/Tristana and learn to mimic them. You won't learn how to play the champs you actually WANT to play.

Shirebornn1 votesI am Ok with playing with or against diamond player, because there's chance i can learn from them. But i have problems with those games that most of enemy team are diamond players whereas the highest rank player in our team is a silver. Game usually ends within 15 min and 30 kills difference. Will I learn anything from those games? Maybe, but most of time, nothing. If that happen 1 or 2 times, i call that coincidence, but when i was bronze, that happened to me several times and multiple games in a row, which made me think it may have something to do with the system.
