League isn't about who is better at the game
It's about which team is more mentally stable, considering how most games end with one person throwing a temper tantrum and losing it for everyone.

It's just a Russian roulette of who gets the feeder or the troll. Our last game every lane did okay. Our TF was super bad but he didn't feed and instead roamed since he knew he couldn't win a 1v1. Our Quinn did pretty good, won lane. We had a Yasuo ADC that was actually pretty good. I went Aurelion Sol jungle and got every drag and did pretty well with ganks too. Was 5/2/9 at one point, finished 5/4/9 when laning ended. We were winning for a lot of the game, though. The enemy team invaded us at level one and we got two level 1 kills.
But we had a WW support.
That liked to roam and didn't hit level 6 until around twenty minutes in.
And died seven times and built poorly.
It's like that in all my games, mostly because of my low ELO I guess. Games are decided by one feeder. Sometimes it's on the enemy team, sometimes it's on my team. More often than not it's on my team. But it doesn't matter how well I do; and what I mean by that is I can do super well or super bad. I can win while doing bad or lose while doing good. My efforts don't affect the game, basically. It all comes down to a game of chance in the champion select-- which team got the feeder/troll which will make the team lose? I'm sure this isn't an issue in higher ELO, but it's so difficult to get there while this IS an issue.
So, yea honestly, I'm usually the one that fucks up a game at the end because of tilt or anger lol. But that's not the reason for losing, y'know? Going through a losing game and trying to stay positive in KDA and attitude is very difficult in itself, but when no matter what you do someone is feeding very hard, making poor decisions due to tilt is a natural reaction and I don't think it's fair to blame the person that had been doing super fine all game for an end-game mistake, while the 1/9 teammate is blameless.

^ this guy gets it.
face the real world and don't be an idealistic idiot.
russian roulette of who gets the better players. I can't say it better. and you cant say its false.
I honestly can. I have had alot of games where the enemy team was overall mechanically better than my team. Every lane of theirs was winning, they had all the dragons and barons, and yet we won because we had better teamwork.
It's not who gets the better players, its which team can set their ego aside long enough to work together and win

Poor decisions such as intentionally feeding or rage-quitting due to a 1/9 teammate is no one's fault but their own and they deserved to be punished for it
Huh? Well, yeah. I don't think anybody was saying that though.
It was a normal game..... I mean you were playing
jungle lmfao . But you crying about a
support? Ok.... so did you happen to look up and see maybe this warwick was a brand new player? I am not saying match making in this game is great at all especially in normal games but to bitch about how poor a teammate did in a normal game when it sounds like your team was already messing around is a little silly.
I get it sucks to have feeders but that literally has been a part of this game since it started. If you don't have the mental fortitude to deal with a teammate doing poorly then your playing the wrong game.
I generally don't give a damn what people play as long as they know how to play it. But even i won't accept the BS choices for champions that don't work in certain positions. I won't allow people to make up a new meta on the spot, just because they've queued up with a certain role and haven't gotten it, only to troll the game because they don't want to play a certain other role they've chosen as a second choice.
Why are you even picking that role if you wouldn't want to be caught dead playing it?
I'm the same way. I don't care if we have a Teemo jungle for example. I'd really rather not have one when someone like Diana or something can jungle much better than Teemo, but if you want to do it then fine. Just make sure you're good at it.
What I can't accept is Soraka jungle. Things that simply will not work no matter how hard you try.
I might not care but i can be skeptical of the pick. I don't really care about the meta in general but that doesn't mean i play whatever i want. I play something i am comfortable with and i expect people to do the same and avoid "exotic" picks.
Even though i know Twitch jungle can work, seeing and meta viable jungler on the other team always makes me worry. Picking Twitch requires farm and good picks to start the assassin snowball but if any other jungler knows that Twitch is weak to early ganks or invades, they will most certainly invade. And for that action to turn into profit for your team, everyone needs to be aware of that fact and be ready to help out, which honestly you can't expect in SQ or it's not high ELO.
It's a gamble to pick someone risky, knowing for a fact that the enemy team is playing with appropriate champions that don't bear such a risk.

They won't pick something as stupid as WW support in higher elos, but the general diagnosis is the same. Whichever team gets the bigger moron loses.
If that were true, you'd statistically auto-climb just by playing since, assuming you yourself aren't a feeding troll, there are 4 slots open for a troll on your team and 5 on the enemy team. Thus you'd have a 56% winrate and auto climb just by playing lots of matches.
Doesn't that apply to everyone thought? From the troll's point of view, 4/5 players can be worse than you on your team but 5/5 players can be worse on the enemy team. It's less likely maybe (due to there being fewer worse players) , but statistically they have the same odds, right?
It does, but in such a case where the player himself IS the troll then he is causing the loss for his team and thus he won't auto climb just by playing matches because he has guaranteed a troll on his team.
Remember the idea I'm responding to is that the team with the worst troll/feeder loses and that's why someone can't climb. By assuming this is the reason someone can't climb, they are stating that the reason they can't climb is NOT their fault, thus I have to assume, using their own set conditions, that that player cannot be the troll, which is why I use the 4 slots on his team and 5 on the enemy. So statistics are very much against that original statement.
If we allow the player himself to be the troll/feeder, that also violates the assumed situation since it is his own fault for the loss, which if true means he is legitimately kept from climbing at that point.
No that's not how it works. It's a 50% chance. What I'm saying is that one person can't really carry a game... but one person CAN make a game unwinnable. That's how games are won in my ELO. Half the time someone on the enemy team goes 0/11 and ruins the game for them, letting us win. Regardless of if I do bad or good, we'll win because they made the game unwinnable for their team. Half the time it's on my team. I don't feed but you're saying that makes me win 56% of a game. You can't though; you either win or you don't. I'm exaggerating because I'm super tilted after this continuously happening, but honestly... I'm only slightly exaggerating. I do my best in every game. Sometimes it's incredibly good, sometimes it's average, and rarely it's bad. None of these things matter though; it's a coinflip of which team has a feeder that makes the game unwinnable for them.
I'm not saying all games are like that. Just my games. Whether I have bad luck, or it's because my ELO, or the time of day I play... I don't know. But I got a lot of upvotes so maybe a lot of other people feel this way too.
I will say that playing ranked and winning half the time does auto climb me, though. I earn more LP for winning than I do for losing. But... what the hell is the point of playing when nothing I do matters? That was the point I was trying to make. I'm not saying 5 people on the enemy team feed and 4 on mine feed so I should win. No, I'm saying ONE person on my team feeds. Sometimes it's more. Sometimes one on the enemy team feeds. But that's what decides the outcome of games. It only takes one person to ruin it. I don't care about climbing, I just want my effort and skill to influence the game.
It's not 50%. There are 9 slots open for the worst feeder (not yourself). 4 of those slots are on your team, thus 4/9 = 44.4% chance the worst feeder is on your team. 5 are on the enemy thus 5/9 = 55.5%. Thus, if your theory was true, so long as you yourself were never going maximum feed mode, you'd have a 55.5% win rate.
If you want to say it's 50/50 that requires you yourself to be the feeder sometimes and as such at that point it is your own fault you can't rank up.
What you are experiencing is a negative bias towards memory where you remember things that impact you negatively more strongly than the positive. The math simply doesn't line up.
Probably true actually. I do have a 50% win rate but I stopped playing ranked out of frustration after only around 15 games total, so the results could be skewed due to not a large enough sample. To be fair though, that wasn't really my point either way
Russian Roulette exists in all ELOs. In low Diamond ( D4, where i am) is also about throwing temper tantrums and people don't have to pick Amumu for that. The games are not chaotic like in your ELO but even when a person with his Gold standard appears in Diamond (not a Gold player but a player who decided to act like Gold), the game is pretty much over with.
Recently I have had: Katerina support (that made the adc jhin rage quit), Shen mid (actually didn't do bad) , garen support, and lastly a fizz that took my first blue and when I complained he threatened to feed. I live for this XD
I think it's more about on who's worse.
It used to not be that way, but multiple famous players have tainted the pool numerous times over the years by openly encouraging negative behavior. Combined with an Ayn Randian, selfish culture where people expect to be the best players while doing none of the work, and ultradefeatism and you get this. Now you have people who think throwing a shit fit over the slightest things is fine.
This sort of observation leads one to believe that there are far too many mentally sick people playing this game. Everyone, go see a doctor, friend, and wise person and ask about your mental health, just in case.
no, it's to do with who's better.
you're not 1,200 games hard stuck in gold because of team mates, LOL.

I mean that cs count looks legit why your stuck
Nah man. A lot of my wins on leblanc are from me spamming taunts until they ragequit. Has happened a few times, it's a viable strategy.
You should be banned for that, its no better then verbal abuse. What a disgusting dog, you are.
Spamming taunt or playing Leblanc?
Both.
league of legends. The game where mental fortitude > skill. How to tilt your enemy 101.
Keeping a level head and controlling your emotions is a learned skill.
I don't consider 5 random people a team on average.
I don't know how they play their champions. I don't know what kind of decisions they will make. I don't know how will they react to my decisions.

Gbay gave good advice, trust them and relax. If the scre up, say its ok and be nice, being nice and accepting of their mistake and palying around it helps the, comeback mentally.

Gbay99 feeds hard and often HIMSELF, though. I even had personal experience. His mechanics/game knowledge aren't bad, but his ability to think ahead and weigh consequences properly are god awful.

Considering these people exist at all elo's there is no reason to believe that temper tantrums effect elo. You lose one game get mad and then win 3 because you are better than the other people.
I don't know why people are interpreting this as a "stuck in elo hell" thread
Nowhere did I mention anything about elo, or Ranked at all
Reading comprehension isn't a particularly widespread skill.
When 3 enemies are hitting your bot inner tower, and youre the top laner, so you go to defend. You ping for help, nobody helps, mid laner is defending his tower, bot lane is farming top lane for some reason, jungler is in enemies jungle farming, and youre still pinging. Nobody comes, your tower gets destroyed, you die. I have these games legit 3 out of 4 times.
I have these games legit 3 out of 4 times.
same for me
I feel you m8.I had a game 1 hour ago when i was 4/1 trynda and my feeding team surrendered when i almost got to the enemy nexus.. --_-.There are just speciemens in this game that should get fcking banned or being punished for feeding and trolling like wth a 20 min leaverbuster its not enough.BAN EM
My philosophy is feeders can't start surrender votes. Just because you decided to feed the hell out of your lane doesn't mean we don't have a 0% chance of winning, nor does it mean you can decide you are done with this game. If the 5/1 mid laner on the other hand starts it saying "I'm not carrying this sh*t" I might consider hitting yes.
I just don't understand how you die more than 3 times in lane unless you are straight up 2v1/3v2ing all game. Realize you are behind and stop picking stupid fights. I can't count how many times my bot lane feeds to stuff like Karma Ez or something when they have zero hard CC so you can just walk away from any aggression.

if the score is 20-5 and you have our 5 and they have a 10-1 vayne. i'm ffing. you don't ff? I feed or afk so the game goes faster.

Mate, you dont know how does it feel to get to the nexus and the team sunddengly get 4 votes for surrender. Its just painfull as getting rid of virginity
Often it's not someone that throws a temper tantrum that throws the game. Depending on the tier and division there usually are multiple players in a match that too easily give up on winning, consider it a waste of time and start to play less seriously or even deliberately feed with 'mistakes'. They think they'll lose and stop thinking what they can do to win the match by doing something differently or building something else.
I confronted a player sometimes with that he already gave up x minutes ago and haven't gotten an unexpected answer so far.
It definitely helps to have a level head. Like helps a lot, but it is also about being better at the game..... It really is the same thing isn't it?
Like If you mentally stable but have no idea wtf your doing... your going to lose a lot of games and have a low mmr and low rank.
If you are good at the game but mentally unstable you going to go on large tilt streaks and probably never reach your full potential.
Combine both skill and mental stability you have a consistent wins a lot player.
It's all about who has more queue partners
Dont forget internet stability. A team of bronze 5 players with a constant 20 ping would have a shot at beating a team of diamond players with a constant 700 ping
Nah its about which team has the better premade, this is Season 6 bruh.
New concept for a rotating game mode riot:
Heads or Tails: queue up for an all-out 5v5 coin flip battle! May the odds be ever in your favor. (approximate game length 30-60 seconds)
#StillBetterThanDQ
League isn't about who is better, League is about being better at the game overtime.
Here's a hyperbolic example of an experience I personally had in ranked recently: https://t.co/bnsQd0kZss
The Viktor can go 28/0, get a penta kill then end the game 37/5, but the 1/20 Karma with 17/63 kill participation can make you lose anyway.
Don't think skill has nothing to do with League, for it does. But it is true that teamwork, decision making, and mental fortitude matter more than the actual skill level (at least, until high diamond/master area, where mechanics start to play a bigger role)
