Top lane has been ruined by conqueror, advice please

Okay, so I mainly play Top lane and sometimes jungle, usually going for tanky champs like Shen, Urgot, Olaf and Poppy, but Conqueror has completely destroyed top lane. It doesn't matter who I am against, if they have Conqueror, I'm at a disadvantage. Over my last 20 games played, every single top lane game I have lost, the enemy had Conqueror, every single one. Darius/Garen, annoying but you can kite them and tank their damage, but if they take Conqueror, no matter how much HP and armor I have, they will win. Irelia and Riven, same issue, except this time, they can have less than 1k hp, and still shred me to nothing even though I have 3k health. The stats of Conqueror don't look like much on paper, but you cant actually counter true dmg so even if you do more damage, you lose because theirs is true damage.

So, any advice? How do you win against Conqueror without taking it yourself? It's stupid that the game forces me to take Runes I hate just to have a fair chance. You may think I'm being a noob here, but that's why I am asking for help, I really have no idea how to win against Conqueror.

how many garens have you actually seen with conqueror?

our main runes are grasp and phase rush. predator sometimes for mid lane, and glacial augment into rare matchups like Kayle Vladimir.

i tried conqueror on garen in the past. its not really great.

if your target is a true damage user u can play nasus or tank teemo for lols or fizz mainly fizz vs fiora you will find its a evenish yet fun matchup

Conqueror's damage conversion is actually somewhat low unless you deal insane dmg (Yasuo, because of his criticals and Q spam) or fight like braindead all the time - very rarely happens in a real game. I personally think tht Poppy is overtuned in terms of damage output with full tank items, no dmg, but can't really say, if I'm right. Irelia should lose to Poppy or Shen, or Olaf until lategame (maybe even lategame, if you are better than her), you are doing something wrong. Darius can be annoying, especially with trinity force, if he is fed.

If you play Olaf, go comet and Rush essence reaver into full ad (some combination of tforce, death dance, streak, ga, bortk, or ghost blade, you aren’t really suppose to think about it too hard). Is it a good build. Not really but you absolutely destroy most melee conqueror users top lane before conqueror even procs.

Keep playing Urgot and destroy people, he's still godlike tier and the nerfs were a joke.

I agree with OP, I'm forced as darius to take conquerors even though it has less synergy with kit (besides bleed keeping it stacked) than most kits because it barely helps ukt and with all the armor pen, his has smaller marginal returns. Yet I have to take it to remain competitive most games.

only things that can beat %true damage is lower attack or kill the source or finally regen is back.
