Why does Riot take away permaslows but insist of keeping permaslow items in the game?

Bronze Mallet and Bronze Crystal Scepter are either noob traps

"better rush it on darius lololol, permaslow op"

or they are only bought on champion with too much sticking potential already, making the item useless either way.

I must say I rarely laid eyes upon such items being bought on any league above Silver IV. And the few times I did, it was on Akali, because somehow, 3 dashes are not enough.

I think I saw Frozen Mallet on Gold V Shyvana once, and she went 2/24, so go figure.

Also you think Rylai is a terrible item? Have you ever played against Singed with it? It will def make you rethink that statement.

Also the items aren't built for sticking power. They are built for the large amount of hp and AD they give. Akali used to be really tanky with Rylai and her W, not much since buying it now with her W being a MS boost though.

I play him a lot.

But still

I find it unnecessary to have such items in the game in a 2k15 season where everything is mobile.

Frozen Mallet is pretty bad. I believe they've been planning on removing it.

Rylai's Scepter on the other hand is fantastic on MANY champions. Singed, Rumble, Karthus, Katarina, Brand, anyone who builds liandry's and doesn't have much CC, Malzahar, Zyra, and quite a few more.

Yes the design is a real problem. The passive functionality stimulates to build it on ASP carries while the stats are directed AD bruisers. I believe I ever posted a topic about it. I believe the change I suggested was a better build path from a item with an active that finaly builds into item 3022 . I really think providing the item with a better build and active could change the functionality of the item by a hugh amount.

Edit: Found the old topic here. When it became succesfull I moved the discussion to reddit. I believe the discussion stopped their after some discussion to make it melee only or not.

I buy Frozen Mallet as a last item on ADC's (unless there's a champ on the other team that would warrant buying a Mercurial Scimtar). On Jinx it gives me lots of extra health and the ability to chase someone down on my own.

item 3116 actually has great uses. I wouldn't like seeing that item go (Morde, Singed, Malzahar, Cass, Rumble, ...).

item 3022 is a different story though. I bought it maybe four times throughout the past two years. And those four times were extremely niche situations that called for the purchase of this item. I believe Riot already stated they wanted to remove this item. Though.. I don't know. It's definitely a bad purchase overall unless you get into one of those extremely rare cases where you don't have any sticking power and can't utilize item 3025 very well (hight cooldowns, bought too much armor already, reached the 40% cap, ...).

It's good on Singed as it makes him unchasable and is also very good on Rumble as I see.

But on other champs, it literally is just there to make sure they can't miss their skillshots.

Like seriously, it doesn't matter if Rumble misses all his E's, he only needs to get the grasp on you with a slight bit of the flamespitter and you literally can't escape.

It's even worse when you consider that such item is only bought when ahead. Making dueling impossible aswell as disengaging.

That's why I think these items should be reworked.

Frozen Mallet should give a really really strong slow that lasted 2 or 3 seconds. While Rylais should have it's slow component slightly reworked to work a bit like Nasus W with a few changes here and there, making the slow really strong in the beginning and then fade off slowly.

You being unable to utilize it doesn't mean it's bad.

Mallet is great on Teemo, great on Shyv, great on Darius. Other people can't use it well? Well, then don't buy it.

Maybe he means they were debatably great on them before that thing called BOTRK? I hope..? I remember one time I in S3 I ran Shyv near the end of it, right when she was 'useless' and right before people suddenly realized what countergank was.

All game. "YOU USELESS FUCKING SHYV WHY DON'T YOU HAVE FROZEN MALLET ITS HER CORE!!!" went like, 14/2/24 Even after game. "STUPID SHYV WHY WOULD YOU BUILD RANDUINS AND BOTRK, YOU NEED FROZEN MALLET TO STICK TO PEOPLE. YOU ALMOST COST US THIS GAME."
