But that's why you build 100% crit chance.
Best build NA

Way better for your barrels.
Well screw that if we want barrel damage

Need that armor pen with da youmuu doe. it does more dmg as a second item than IE lol (against targets with less than 100 armor last i checked)
If you want armor penetration, get a
instead. More attack damage and armor pen
no... you want flat armor pen not percent armor pen with gp. EDIT: at least against targets below 100 as i first said.
Target has 100 armor and you have
:( [35 X armor]% X [40 armor]%= 61% armor pen with barrels) aka 61 armor pen total
Target has 100 armor and you have
: 40% times 100 = 40 armor pen with 20 so** 60 armor pen. **
Add in some rune armor pen (max of 19) and you got some dmg.
Reason why LW is worse than Youmuu in most cases? So for one more armor pen and 10 AD if you go LW you would be giving up 10% cdr, 15% crit, WAY more dmg on targets less than 100, and that speed and attackspeed steroid. LW just isnt as gold efficient. AND ( if you have armor pen marks like i do u almost deal true damage) and if they have70 armor you "DO" deal true dmg. just because you have youmuu. (19 armor pen from runes leaves them with like 2 or 3 armor.
The damage with youmuus only gets substantially better as the target has even less armor. unless their team is packing like 2-3 threatening champs with like 150+ armor LW for LW to be gold efficicient, its not worth it on gp. You would be giving up the
300k mastery points on GP.
Teach me your ways, Captain
But 40% of 70 is 28, so with +20 from Youmuu you're at 48. I don't think masteries/runes can make up the deficit 22 ArPen, can they?
Whisper + Barrel shred is 35% pen + 40% pen: 0.6 x 0.65 = 0.39, or 61% armour pen, not 54%.
This means in your 100 Armour example, you reduce them by (unsurprisingly) 61 armour, compared to Youmuu's 60 armour.
Whisper is still the superior choice from 100 armour+

um Percent armor shred is MULTIPLICATIVE** not** ADDITIVE so barrel % is 40% and LW is 35% so you MULTIPLY the two. you are adding them for some reason...
as for Ramuhdo after the 48+ armor pen runes it left the target with THREE armor. basically true dmg. so i just said true dmg. you can get up to 19 armor pen from runes btw.
EDIT: furthermore where are you even getting the .6 from? seems random ... .-. .....
Indeed, percent armor shreds are multiplicative, which is exactly what I did :|
A 40% shred means the target is left with 60% armor A 35% shred means the target is left with 65% armor
When you have both a 35% shred and a 40% shred, they are left with 60% of 65% of armor, which is 39%. A total of 61% armor shred.
How would you even think I'm doing it additive? If I was, I would have said 40+35 = 75.
I honestly can't even figure out how you got 54% in the first place.
ah crud. no excuses on my part. math is right. Was just going off of what was discussed in the GP subreddit forums and the dmg i saw in my games so sounded right. BUT Still correct on my original statement. always get youmuu over LW unless its a heavily armored team or something of that nature. if not youre giving up 15% cdr (very important), crit (important obv) and a steroid all for 10 AD and that other form of pen. Not worth. My statement still stands
but my original statement still stands. (will fix math) you still want youmuu against targets lower than 100 health as i first said so getting it before LW is for the best. Youu is more efficient
MY...... GOD
Why waste an item slot?
oh, and dont forget the trinket

Infinity Edge trinket isn't out yet tho its just in the PBE so we can't do that quite yet
His barrels ignore 40% armor so last whisper isn't necessary, you butcher tanks anyway. Most players just build a second Infinity edge.

Hey, with 100% crit chance, he doesn't leave anything to chance
100% crit isnt chance at all m80
Exactly. He trusts nothing to chance so he'll take his chances by building enough chance to out-chance chance based champions.
yo dawg i heard you like chances so we put chances in yo chances so you can take risk while taking risk
Hopefully by chance.
Did you know that if you build one of all the items in the game with crit chance, you have 100% crit chance? That is why you must build

Except that even with only trin force he seems to crit almost every time and they're generally aoe with armor shred if he plays barrels well.
He seems to crit almost every time...? I do believe the laws of statistics apply to Gangplank same as with every other champ.
nope he's a pirate, rules don't apply to him
You're probably thinking the giant crit looking numbers that come from the Trinity proc.
"We think crit chance is pure RNG"
-You (for some reason)
But Crit Chance is PURE RNG unless it's value is either 0% or 100%.
What the fuck do you think RNG means? xD
Nope, it's weighted RNG.
Yes, the more Crit Chance you get, the more likely you are to Crit.
But it is still RNG.
Exactly because while it may be weighted there is no guarantee I will ever get a crit until 100%. With just IE I could get 0/10 crits or 10/10 crits. While neither are highly probable they do have a slim chance of happening which will always be me getting the first example and my opponent getting the second because RNJesus hates me. I can have 50% crit chance as adc and not get a critical but god damn that Rengar with just ghostblade'a critical chance will manage to get two crits on me in a row.
PRNG is just a slightly shifted form of RNG, as Computers can´t reproduce any "true" Randomness - but it´s still random and for most purposes the difference is absolutly neglectable.
When he says weighted, he means that Riot specifically programmed it so that if you're getting more or less crits than you should on average, it increases or decreases the chance to crit again accordingly. It's only a minor adjustment, but the weighting is there.
that´s what PRNG stands for...PseudoRandomNumberGenerator. And it still doesn´t change a thing.
Source? I've been playing for a long time and have never seen Riot talk about using weighted RNG. I know DotA2 does with their crit items, but their crit system is also entirely different from ours.
It means RNG. And considering that your previous instances of (not) crit affect the next ones, it's something you don't need chance to rely on.
LUL
RNGesus pls.
Says that too :3
