Relic Shield, Targon's Brace, Face of the Mountain and how EXECUTE works

Most of us know about Relic Shield and its upgrades, Targon's Brace and Face of the Mountain .

Most of us know they have a passive ability called Spoils of War which is used to secure minion last hits by the Support with an Execute, instantly killing low health minions and giving gold and health to a nearby ally.

What apparently many do not know, is that the Execute function will not activate from a ranged attack. This is stated on each item yet overlooked regularly by infrequent supports because it's almost always a melee Support that uses it.

Need to Know: Thresh is ranged. It's short, but it's not melee. He will not proc the Execute. He and all champions, however, will grant the minion kill gold and hp to an ally, but you must last hit them without the execute if you aren't melee. It doesn't need to be an auto attack; if you kill it, it works.

TIPS: Thresh's (E) Flay passive builds up damage on your autoattack. Let it build up to last hit easily since he won't proc the execute function. Siege minions are your priority target as they grant the most gold, followed by melee's. Try to make sure you have a charge ready when the next Siege Minion wave gets there, and make sure your ADC knows you're going to be killing them to share the gold.

RITO PLZ: People wondering why it doesn't work for ranged post every day. Could they get a quality of life change to help them see the "melee basic attacks execute" on the item easier? Such as; red or yellow coloring, underline, fireworks, or boobs and beer.
