New Xin feels awful to play

He's supposed to feel smoother, but between his new Q and W it's very clunky. With his W animation, he can easily land his sweep, but the jab isn't hard to dodge. Plus, by the time the animation finish, you have to reselect the target or else he just stands there. In terms of his Q, the spin is definitely not what a spear user would do. A spear should jab, parry, chop, but not do a triple axle pirouette in combat. Maybe its a preference issue, but the old xin is more into character than the new one to me.

Plus you have to blow your gap closer to get your attack speed buff

Q animation feels too flashy for the sake of lookng cool when the old one felt smoother

Being locked into W's animation as a kitable melee feels like garbage

I haven't tried out new Xin yet, Although I have played against him only once. I feel like you want to [E] onto your target, use [W] for the slow & then pop [Q] for the three-hit Knockup (Just by observation, I could be wrong about this).

He lost his identity. Before he was a strong early laner, weak mid game, strong late game. They removed his base and put the power into ratio which requires scaling. In a fight, he jumps you, sweep with W, you side step his thrust W as easy as you dodge a nidalee spear, move right by a minion which by that time he would have to click in you again to re-lock on your champion and chances are he'd click on the minion instead wasting one part of his Q. Did I mention his slow time got reduced ridiculously because no one would get hit by said thrust. Despite his ult negating damage from 450 range, he would be hit by anyone between 449 range and his AA range or it takes exactly one CC for his ult time to run out.

Power wise late game, he's roughly the same, but it's like playing a whole new champion.

I like the new xin. There's one than one way to catch your enemy and feels smoother to use

I never played him before the rework but I did enjoy the one game I've played so far afterwards.

I feel like they added more skill expression than what he used to have, although I really am not a fan of the W locking you out.

The new xin feels clunky without atk spd Imo. I've tried assassin items xin, bruiser xin and ham on atk spd xin. Needless to say, feel the animations feel the best on the atk spd xin

Personally the thing i dislike is the lock on the W and the negligible damage.. It's a nice tool to use to farm minions in lane from afar and to counter chasing, as you thrust behind you to slow them down.. but the animation lock is lame and the animation by itself is slow. Also the damage reduction on the Q feel odd.. He is fun to play and add alot of mechanics.. but the attack speed removal on the W and forced it on the E make it aweful. It force to use your gap close to get attack speed even tho sometime you have nothing to dash to. Overall Xin got nerfed.. and he could use a little love tap.

Exactly the same thing that I feel with Rengar. This sweep thing isn't cool, is perfect for counterplay, but it's not viable in a game where 3/4 of your targets have a way to repositionate. It's ok on a tank like Seju, but It's not on dive/assassin champ.

The old xins identity was e--r-w-q-get a kill Repeat. with this new xin you have to think about your actions much more.

P.S you use the w mainly after you get the knockup

this is why we liked the old Xin great champ when you didn't want to have to think.

His W feel so flawless and clunky.

I feel like I pressed S to stop.
