Tbh, the banning phase in normals and RGMs should be after the second rotation

People ban the same champions 95% of the time, which sort of defeats the point of a banphase. There can't be a champion so broken you can't pick against them. Not to mention, it's, you know, normals.

Team A FP - Team B 2nd and 3rd pick - Banphase sound like it would lead to more dynamic draft. Some people will prioritize what they want to practice, some will pick what they consider fun, some will pick perceived OP champion, some will counterpick those. Otherwise, you might as well disable high ban rate champions and skip it entirely.

Never mind champions are banned for the stupidest reasons. "I'm going to ban Zoe Evelynn because I don't want people to get practice in on them. Or I'm going to ban Yasuo ZedDarius Kayn because on the off chance they get fed early and main the champion, they'll pop off." But let's be honest, the main reason is that people don't know what to ban, since League basically has no specific champion counters.

The main reason isn't just the lack of specific counters but the many "copy-paste" champions. MOBA heroes usually have their very own niche and with banning a hero you can get rid of a whole playstyle. In LoL you can't ban all melee assassins or catcher tanks in one move, so banning isn't that important at all.

Though you are right, they should use the very same ban phase like in LCS. Or I would be even more happy with a system like in DotA. It goes like this: A ban, B ban, A ban, B ban, A pick, B pick, B pick, A pick, A ban, B ban, A ban, B ban, B pick, A pick, B pick, A pick, B ban, A ban, B pick, A pick.

But they won't do it, they made it clear. There was a lot of discussion about this at the time of the new format in LCS and many people asked for that 10 ban system. But Riot clearly said they won't do it as they don't want a system where their FotM champs can be permabanned or where actual ten bans really can happen, especially that people could really start to counter-ban. So, they just gave this pretty pointless overlapping blind-ban something... be happy with it.
