Damage Creep will never die

It's applicable to every scenario. No matter the meta, you can say "damage creep".

If champs are going full AD/AP and someone runs into them clearly, they are doing too much damage.

If anyone else builds tank items, clearly, it's either because a)everything is doing too much damage forcing them to build tank or b)my personal favorite, they are doing so much damage that they don't need to go full damage.

Very true, although no one can really deny that keystones loaded too much damage into the game.

I wanted to do a thread on that too but it takes a heckofalotof research and math, mostly math, to make full comprehensive comparisons between the old and new mastery trees. And that's no good for a lazy person like moi.

Thing is though, the only contenders for keystones that overloaded the game with damage are Thunderlord's and Fervor (and maybe DFT). And while I had to find out that lv 18 fervor gives AAs more damage than the masteries in previous seasons, there's also the fact that those masteries gave more AD (since ADCs have to take 2%LS/SV these days) and AS. Thunderlord's ... yeah it'll secure you some kills but you gotta admit it's a really fair mastery. 3 damage sources need to connect, which aside from weird interactions like Heimer rockets, is something you can prepare and defend yourself against. And a min 15s CD for an ability with terrible scaling and average base damage is pretty fair too. Haven't given DFT much thought. It's good for trades when used by champions with singletarget spells and more of a scaling ability that combine with a lot of AD or with Rylai's. With all the sustain in the game, I'd say there're enough counters to it. Idk.

Thanks for the upvote tho^

Doesn't damage creep means trying to balance game by constantly creating champs/items with a lots of damages/overloaded kit?

Which create the problem you mention in B where champ just build tank while killing everything faster than what a normal tank would.

That's only thing champions or items do though. They do damage, mitigate damage or enforce damage.

Introducing some form of damage or tools against it is all you can expect from the balance team, it's the only thing anyone can do. Saying that they're "trying to create balance by constantly creating champs/items with a lots of damages/overloaded kit" does nothing but antagonize Riot. It doesn't get into the heart of what the actual problem is, assuming there is one at all, it makes Riot sound sloppy for doing what they literally can't help doing and that's it.

Granted, it could be true ... but it kind of isn't. Any champion or item that dominates the current patch gets their damage nerfs. Another thing I should make a thread about but compiling all the data from the 100-200 patchnotes is hard.

People dont build tank because everyone does too much damage. People build tank because it tends to be better overall for the most part. Even ADCs technically can do better building more tank stats, but they wont because the ADC exists solely for objectives.

So long as ADCs exist to be able to kill objectives themselves incredibly quickly, everyone else will build tank, because not dying is more damage than dying.

True. You won't hear advocates of damage creep say that though. It would imply that building tank stat was a thing that always happened.

Yeah. Its always been more optimal to build tank, and even if you removed every single ADC from the game youd end up with full AD Ahri because towers baron and dragon still exist and death timers are short.

You build tank because of the additional amount of time it's supposed to keep you going in team fights. The amount of extra time you typically get this season is drastically lower than previous seasons, unless the enemy team is restricted to only one damage type, you're fed, and they're behind.

I don't see why that should be true in the slightest when you consider that Mundo was an unkillable monster during the early stages of S6.

And even if it were true, wouldn't that be a good thing? When a tank runs into the enemy team, they should get punished for it if they can't use their kit to lock them down.
