anonymous item pings being abused

Recently it has come to my attention that pinging a champs item is anonymous (I'm sure this extends to other pingables on the scoreboard as well).

The only info it displays is [champion/summoner who owns the item] + [item being pinged]

it is a completely anonymous and unmuteable way of harrassing someone in game.

hopefully I'm just an idiot, but from my experience I wasn't able to mute the individual who was clearly harassing one of my teammates. It was aggravating for me, so I can only imagine how annoying it must have been for the person being flamed. On top of that, the constant anonymous pinging made the chat essentially unusable during the game.

From my research on the forums it could be a bug that an item is constantly being pinged. Buuuuut I'm fairly certain it was a conscious effort to harass an individual.
