not sure what to do other than report, but this is completely unnacceptable

I've come to accept that league is filled with young players who may not have the best filters, and that's fine, but the following is just not acceptable on any level. I have developed pretty thick skin from playing this game over the course of 6 or 7 years. I know tensions get high, especially when a close game is on the line. But what I don't understand is the pattern of offensive players I've come across in the champ select lobby recently. I thought that league had begun to turn around its player base, into a mix of semi-decent human beings. But recently, people have been flaming HARD without provocation before a single champion has been locked in. MULTIPLE GAMES IN A ROW have been like this, and it's really starting to bother me that I have no recourse to take against these people.

sure, you can report after a game. but who knows if the algorithm takes a look at pregame lobby chat. sure, you can mute them in game. but you can't do that before the game even starts. sure, you can ignore them. but chances are someone from my team gets sucked into their antics.

This post will most likely be swept under the rug, where most of these posts probably end up. But if anyone with any clout sees this, please take it seriously. I love this game, I really do. I've put up with the players because thats just what you do in this game. But this is too much, and theres nothing I can do about it. And I'm pretty sure this guy, and the others that have been just as rude, know they will get away with it. It's frustrating.
