ADCS WEAK?

What do you guys think? Are adcs actually weak or is this because the meta apparently revolves around shitting on bot lane? Do adcs feel weaksauce because it takes too long for them to ramp up their damage that by the time they do the game is already decided?

Sooo many people on these boards complain about Cait and it's not even her damage I see complaints about. Obviously Lucian isn't doing enough damage, I see this in my silver games and I hear he's getting buffs down the road too.

It's probably a combination of a lot of things imo but I see a lot of stuff floating around about why adcs are weak so I figured I'd make a post to consolidate all this discussion about adcs being weak into one topic. Oh and post why you say something :D

its entirely the meta. when they get their power spikes theyre actually disgusting.

right now the fact that the game is won by camping bot lane to get that bot lane turret as soon as possible, theyre denied their powerspikes.

games snowball hard off those bot lane gangbangs, and usually end before marksmen scale and take over the game.

Considering how the meta is built around incredible early game dominance and ADCs are THE late game class, it's no surprise that they feel weak. Especially when bot lane has a bunch of early game snowball potential.

I actually find it funny how the early to mid game champions are given the lane with the late game objective while the late game champions are given the most early game objectives.

ADCs have never been that strong overall anyway. Last season is probably the strongest they've ever been in the history of LoL, but only because Riot literally bent over backwards to make it that way. In a game where the rest of the roster deals burst damage, brings a wealth of utility, and/or has high mobility, relying solely on auto-attacks for your damage output is a huge weakness.

Once you remove towers from the equation, marksmen don't really have much of anything going for them. The only exceptions are Graves, Jayce, Urgot, and arguably Quinn and that's because they function more like ranged fighters and can be self-sufficient.

They're not weak, it's just a change in the meta. Don't believe me? Look at the past few patch notes, they haven't gotten any noticeable nerfs; to items or champions. It's just the pampered self-centered marksmen mains complaining about finally being replaceable, like ever other class has been since the beginning.
