Other gaming forums have a thread like this where players can go to dump their salt instead of making hundreds of "my bronze team sucked" threads. So let's get started!

I'm pretty salty from a game today when my adc said I'm a troll and muted me because I play off meta. This bozo was then the person who got caught pushing bot lane while the rest of us took baron because he couldn't see my baron call in chat. >:(

I'm not exactly sure which forum is best for this so I chose the sub-forum with the saltiest posts. XD a mod can move it if some other sub-forum fits better.

Can mods make a new board? Instead of this thread just make another whole section called "Salt posts" so gameplay can actually be constructive rather than what it is now.

We can (Keyru can, rather), and we've been talking about a "rant board", but the general consensus seems to be that it would do more harm than good. If you have feedback for the incoming volunteer moderators for the Gameplay board I recommend posting on Boards Community & Moderation, and you can sign up yourself here too.

If we can assume responses on this thread are typical of what one might see in a rant thread or section then I think it would do more good than harm. Very few posts here did any harm and most used the thread as it was intended to vent their frustrations. I think it even kept a few vent/salt posts off of the gameplay boards.

My little experiment has given me reason to believe a "rant board" would be acceptable. Can you start an open discussion about this to gather wider feedback? A thread you make would get much more traffic than if I were to make the thread and ask for thoughts.

I can understand you playing passively on your tower while the veigar roams all over the place and not even bothering to ward his paths.

what i can't understand, is you soloing taking the blue buff while being 0/4, taking more than half your hp in damage from blue, and then going to your lane with 20% hp to farm-off against the 7/1/3 veigar.

I get salty basically every time there's a duo/trio/quad queue matched up with me, because if the match goes sour, they absolutely ensure that Surrender votes don't pass.

And god, what better way to earn IP than to drag out a godawful losing match and troll your teammates who just want to make an obvious win not take a half-hour to wrap up? 46 IP is totally worth it. Totally.

ranked is a lot better than norms in regards to a lot less people trolling, if you think that ranked is the same as norms, you havent played ranked. And its not so you can blow off steam, its just an easy way to not take normals as seriously. And if having people troll in 1/10 of your games is too much then online competitive gaming isnt right for you

Why is it that whenever I bring up multi-player queues shutting down any possibility of a Surrender, everybody just ducks under the point of it?

The game goes bad. Your midlane is feeding, your top lane is losing the inevitable grind against a Tryndamere, your bottom lane isn't doing well, your Jungler disconnected after their first buff camp. DO YOU REALLY NEED TO PLAY THAT MATCH UNTIL THE NEXUS IS BROKEN?

No. I think not. It infuriates me that the ONLY option for easing the pain of an inevitable loss is just shot out of the air by literally any group larger than ONE person. What could've been a short, relatively pain-free match is now a 34-minute slog that leaves everyone except for the trolls fuming and unable to play further.

And that. Is NOT. FUN. It is NOT FUN to have all of your agency stripped by any and every two-man premade that gets the freedom to decide how long a game is going to play out.

But oh, "bloo-hoo-hoo go back to bots if you get so worked up over normals". Because, y'know. My point was apparently that I want to win 100% of my matches, and not that having to lose for a half hour is just plain bullshit.

So, duo queues having control of Surrender votes tilts me to no end. But people like you who completely IGNORE THE BIGGEST PAIN POINT ABOUT IT tilt me even harder.

Well if you're stuck in a game you might as well enjoy it! Focus on your own gameplay in those cases since there's not much else you can do :/

^ you have a good point all in all, however, RANKED doesn't fix anything, there's still just as many trolls and (forgive me for the harsh mention) noobs playing as soon as they reach lvl 30 after playing mostly ARAM's to reach lvl 30. further you still get tox and if your solo like me mostly then youl have ATLEAST and i shit you not right now, 3 of the team blaming/reporting you for even joining the match possible troll and possible carrying godfather of games who somehow got a really bad matchup since they are diamond with a bunch of bronzes... ---not forgetting the 10 match trial to get your ranking----- i had 9 out of 10 matches tilted on this account and im stuck in bronze 5 bronze 4 simply from the HUUUUGEEE tilt rate i expect upon entering into any ranked match, even when choosing times less likely to have 12 yr old trolls playing.

what it boils down too is, if you make a game, and make rules, enforce them, RIOT can simply put a agro moniter on all chat, someone gets nasty each game, they get kicked, someone last hits a champ when the other 99 percent of dmg was done by you or another nearby (alive most likely) champ waiting for the banner with your kill to appear only to have it tainted by the broken will-ed champ beside you that only wishes to get S+ each game and assumes he/she can make it so by KS'ing off you and hiding till the match is lost. (them ofcourse thinking well it wasnt so bad im 16/4/0 with a loss not bad for a chest and an S+...) you and the other 4 players still screaming about how it could have been amazing to play a 5v5 not have yet another trolling player ruin your game because riot cares more about numbers then quality of player, go spend some more money on your RP fools, it sure as hell isnt going towards patching, theres more crashes than ever before, dont patches (FIX) things.....

I'm tired of getting the worse jungler of the two, and junglers having so much influence on the game.

You know what REALLY GRINDS MY GEARS THOUGH? Is that we've had 2 years of this garbage ass tank meta, and now Riot's great idea is to put in all these fuckking shield and support items with insanes amount of shielding and healing bonuses so now we have to deal with tanks AND shielders.

I genuinely hope this company goes bankrupt.

Just had a game. Loading screen comes up and I see I'm stuck with yet another trio in a normals game. Joy. Whatever, I start playing. I shit on my enemy in lane (I later discover he's Bronze 5, where I'm in like...high gold low plat MMR) and a couple of good ganks by the jungler, who's one of the duo, put me really ahead. So my mid, who's playing Viktor, gets absolutely shat on by a Riven mid. I later discover she's Diamond 3. Yaaaaaay, matchmaking. Anyways, mid, jungle, and bot are all scrapping around really hard, trading kills for no reason other than there was a champ there and they wanted to fight. This goes on while my enemy laner roams away and I take the opportunity to take two towers top. Nothing too impressive so far, but they're scrapping mid again, so I show up and shit all over them.

Things progress from there. I end up really fed and super big, but the rest of my team is totally incompetent, and can't win a fight without me there. Not even a 4v4. Lucky me. And I can't splitpush because Riven will just lolmobility away and engage on them, and Viktor can't splitpush because he's shit. This type of thing goes on for a while, with us unable to do any pushing because they have a Cait and I can't get any side waves pushing. Barons get traded, fights get fought, picks get made. Eventually, while we have an inhib down we manage to pick some off and take two inhibs in return. I signal for us to get out of there and we do, running back up mid, Riven and her team trailing us the whole time. Then THIS HALF-HEALTH RETARD VIKTOR decides to pop ghost and engage on the Riven. Naturally, we follow up because we have no other choice.

We lose the fight, get wiped, lose the game. And Viktor has the temerity to blame me for it. Mind you, at the end of this game I am 17/3/14, with 301 CS. And this fucktard with less than 200 CS thinks that everything is my fault. "Nasus, why didn't you just win the game? Nasus, why did we lose? Nasus, why don't you babysit us all of the time?" **BECAUSE YOU'RE SHIT, VIKTOR. YOU'RE SHIT AND YOU DRAG EVERYBODY ELSE DOWN WITH YOU, ESPECIALLY YOUR TRIO. **

In other news, I am sick to fucking death of getting queued with trios in normal draft.

Dear teammates: you are, collectively, 0/13/8. As a group of 4, you have more deaths than kills and assists combined, and four of those assists are from a single kill. I am 6/2/0. Maybe, just MAYBE, you should at least consider listening to my calls, as opposed to going off to try to farm sidelanes. You cannot "farm it out." In about 2 minutes, if that, the enemy team is going to go as 5 down mid and wreck our base, we NEED to make a catch to stall. Once one is dead you can go farm a while, but right now we desperately need to get a kill before they just up an end the game.

People don't look for a place to vent before they post threads just to vent. Salty people just post in random places about random things that most people don't agree with. Then they get downvoted and judged for simply venting! Here I've made a place where people can vent their frustration without being judged.

If they did search for a place to vent then they'd find this thread. This is why I link them to the thread, so that they know it exists.

I think it's a good idea because I'd rather have a designated place where people can vent rather than posting different threads every single day where they'll be downvoted. Here nobody will judge them and they can be as salty as they want without cluttering boards with salt/vent posts.

I'm not trying to gain popularity or upvotes, just trying to solve a problem I saw on the boards.

Edit: There are 3 or 4 people who've already used the thread to its purpose, even if nobody else uses it now then I'm satisfied with giving them this space :)

It isn't just random things in random places. The cause of the vents are often a result of a larger problem.

Common one being with matchmaking:

"My team had X mmr, enemy team had s6 plats with +500 mmr, Rito pls"

That is based on the matchmaking system, not some random thing, and they often will state the connection.

Something that would fit in here would be something truly anecdotal and meaningless, which rarely happens.

Something like, "I had a nunu that fed last game in my promos."

If people are venting exclusively, they will usually say so. More often than not, it's just recent, anecdotal evidence.

I try to leave alone posts that have discussion in mind. I've been trying to only link people who are clearly tilted and are venting through their post already.

Some of these people say "x is op." Mostly I think those people are tilted and venting rather than actually trying to discuss balance.

However, if I've made a mistake and accidentally linked people that aren't salty please show me and I'll do what I can to fix it.

honestly riot needs this feedback asmuch as we need to vent, but for now the best thing to do is not get salty at someone for giving you this option. dont shoot the messenger he has a valid point, oceana is toxic erryday and some of us dont appreciate the agro much less the constantly ruined matches that the players create with thier toxic behaviour ingame. its nice to have a group segment for venting without offense. and moreso its a good display of how we arent toxic players, were just really... REALLY mad about the ones that are...

Not just that, but Downvotes are not supposed to be used for "I disagree" - they're supposed to be used for moving unrelated and off-topic comments to the bottom of the thread. It's frustrating when you want to hold a discussion, or you make a contrary point (or even a "super outside the box" thread) and it becomes downvoted by people who don't even reply to you.

That's pretty much the mentality you have to carry. It's unfortunate because the merit of many statements and threads are purely based on who sees them at the right/wrong time. You can post the same thread worded differently at two different times of day and the mob mentality will upvote one as the other is downvoted for the same reason.

Game #2: Well, it can't get any worse right? Nunu jungle 40 minute game, 87 CS. Under 23 CS per ten minutes. You can literally do ONLY KRUGS and have more CS than that.
