Why mana potion was deleted ...?
yea ik it was removed at s5... but it was an important potion...

Our decision to remove mana pots goes along the same philosophy as starting items. 100 mana tends to benefit certain types of champions over others (with mana costs being balanced against individual champion kits) and can wildly shift from being a mediocre purchase to a very cost-efficient one. By removing mana pots, we can better balance champion ability costs with the mana regeneration stat while also streamlining the ‘sustain game’ of League.

so.. katarina, yasuo, lee, kennen, zed etc.. can have "energy" or even nothing and spam abilities without going back... but when i wanna play jarvan or jayce with are mana hungry champions.. i have to go back every 2-3 levels?
Whee, completely ignoring the tradeoffs.
You're missing the point, actually.
They removed mana pots so that they could fairly tune champs ability costs so that you wouldn't be hamstrung by the possibility of being able to buy a mana pot.
Certain champs have received major buffs to their mana costs for this reason and are significantly healthier because of it (either buffing where they were weak, or balancing where they were oppressive).
It has nothing to do with how they compare to manaless champs.
Yea, because Jayce without mana is so comparable to Katarina not having mana. Some champion can get away with being manaless, some can't.

Yeah suddenly in 5 seasons since game release mana potion became a problem . rofl It was just the incompetence and dumbness in them, to change for the sake of change. "Lets remove mana potion out of the blue"
with out them, darkkmanes garen bu-ild is now immposible
Mana Pots are one thing, but thank christ they killed off Flask Pots start. Never fuckin leave lane til 6.
I honestly forgot about flask.
that's cuz it's still here in a different form via
The biggest change was that you can't stack it with normal pots anymore for uber sustain.
i honestly would like to know this as well... they probably listed why in the patch notes... but i doubt that reason is still relevant now, w/e it was

I believe one of them was named
Anyway, I think it was that some people relied on them, and it gave an unfair advantage or disadvantage to their other laner, depending on how much the mana pots helped.
pantheon was a riot's creature... so it's their fault.. removing mana potion and ruinning other's champions who are mana hungry is straight bs
It probably has to do with Mages getting too much sustain in lane out of them

yeah but back then blue buff also gave mana and we had
..
So riot can balance champions mana pools and regen more easily.
and then they buffed assasins which 9/10 use no mana and lethality .
Riot's logic.
No mana required (or next to none needed), so balanced.
(lists rest of mana hungry champs) mana hungry and are known to abuse mana potions.....too op and shouldn't get it!
But Aurelion Sol was released after mana pots were deleted...
But Aurelion Sol was released after mana pots were deleted...
It's just an example.
one of my mains is jayce... Q-E consumes 140 mana on level 2 ... my max mana on level 2 is 350... so 2 combos... i run out of mana.. ik jayce is op, but still..
to be fair though, the EQ does half of someones health
You forgot
, I always took mana potion instead of hp potions on him
your balanced champions list is not balanced at all ... none of them except of ydir which is trash
I think the issue was that mana pots for the most part was a noobtrap. You'd buy them and not even use them when they're relevant, like in the early game. Every champion had differing mana regen rates, so Riot balanced that along with the removal so that the champions that did benefit from the early sustain were not going to be gutted.
I remember the days when we could do 9 HP pot start. Akali was a real piece of balance those days, lol.
new champions don't use mana
old champions fuck them and fuck you for playing them - riot games
Rito wanted to balance Mana regen differently for different champs.

Someone with low mana costs will milk a far greater proportion out of that mana pot than someone with high costs. Some champions would be able to drink that 100 mana in as few as two casts or even one; others would look at five or even six. It would be the difference between three full rotations and a back, and five full rotations and a kill+assists.
I would have appreciated if they took it easier on supports in general, but League has always had a hard spot for keeping supports on their toes and making sure they don't get to fall into a passive roll of painting health bars. I've seen how healing can become and how toxic it can be both to play, and play against; League does it pretty well, for all their other failings.
If you still run oom constantly in s7 youre bad
