Is there ANY champion who doesn't get absolutely shit on by Annie mid lane?
Seriously, I'm desperate. I literally feed every Annie I lane against no matter who I pick.
And yes I chose the word 'literally' knowing what it means.

Anyone who out-ranges her and can notice when her passive is up and waits until she uses her Q to last-hit to do something?
Hell, even Zed's Q outranges all her spells.
Hell, you can build
if she uses her spell rotation on minions to charge up her passive, or block that flash+Tibbers combo.
Why would she use her Q to last hit when she can sit on a stun and stand in between you and your minions?
Range doesn't matter when all she has to do is walk toward you and you have 0 choices except to retreat under tower.
Like I said, you can pick a champion that outranges her. For cs'ing, use your waveclear when the minions are low, and stay out of Annie's range. If she walks toward you, you can walk away because her range is reasonably short. She'll take minion aggro, and if you're someone like Ahri, you can cc her with a skillshot that outranges her.
And if she doesn't take that kind of bait, and just sits on her stun, you can just play the patience game and see if she starts using her Q to last-hit. Her W is waveclear, but her Q is a common last-hitting tool. Trust me, not all Annies just sit on their stun for five minutes and never cast spells.
Not to mention she's immobile, short-ranged for a mage, and her cc is on her passive and can be predicted (and see when used for farming, giving you a window of opportunity).
Don't act helpless, you have an item to block her spell if she actually sits on her passive for that long without casting spells, and many champions that completely outrange her. If she sits on her passive, she's going to be pushed if she doesn't push back and waste a Q or two on minions. Then she'll miss out on cs if she doesn't use her Q if the tower takes minions. And so on.
There is counterplay to Annie, please stop pretending there isn't.
There is counterplay, its just none of what you said.
Literally the least helpful post in this thread, thanks.
Really? How so?
Zed's Q outranges every one of Annie's spells (900 range opposed to 625 around the board), and his shadow can mimic spells for combined range (550 shadow range + 290 E range means even his E can still hit Annie and even refund energy, not to mention double shuriken).
Annie uses up her passive if she uses her Q on minions (which gets a lower cooldown and refunded mana if used so, so it's intended to be a farming tool).
If she flash + Tibbers you when you have banshee's veil on, it'll block it.
So how exactly is none of what I said useful and not counterplay? I explained my end, so where's yours if I'm so wrong?
he listed quite a bit of annie's counterplay really
ever tried to walk toward someone with superior range than you? you dont make it there safely
Annie does, either that or I'm forced to have 0 CS for the duration of laning phase because I'm under tower.
stop sitting around low enough in lane that she can flash+tibber+ignite you then
Troll post, disregarding.
Pot, meet kettle.

Anyone with abilities outside of her spell rotation can dump on her. You obviously won't be able to fight her early one, as that is where she is very strong, but you will be able to farm and get items to a point where you can poke her out and possibly kill her without her being able to do anything.

These will have a harder time with her, but if you can either outplay her or get ahead of her, you should be able to win through brute strength.
Real talk: It's sounds more like you have trouble with the fundamentals of playing a lane rather than anything to do with Annie. All of those basic tactics for laning work on her and as a champion, she has little ability to outplay. It's the reason while though she is sometimes picked as support, she is not even considered a competitive pick for the mid lane in high level play, even though she is, by nature, a mid lane burst mage. Any mid lane pick has the ability to beat Annie.
I've seen her used as a flex pick in the LCS (or was it LPL?) - Annie was a killing machine. They first rotation picked her Red side and the other team assumed it was going to be Annie support, I guess, and got completely mind gamed when the enemy dropped her into mid. The inevitable lvl 6 jungle gank with tibbers started a huge snowball, it's like people have forgotten the damage a Deathcap Annie can do.
It doesn't really help the OP, but any character that can flex two lanes like that is super strong. Even if the secondary lane you'd choose might be weaker it gives you the opportunity to use your last pick to counter two different lane matchups. It's even stronger if you throw more flexes like a Kennen or Morgana.
she is among the strongest mid laners there is. The only reason why she isnt picked in LCS as a mid laner is because its usually for a mobile assassin poke champ. she can accomplish great as a support and still scale later on with tons of damage.

Cho; Silence + Knockup + ult and you just bursted her enough and she cant retaliate in time thanks to your silence. Tanky enough to survive a full rotation and sustains her harass well early
Ahri: Little harder than cho but not impossible, you have decent waveclear with Q and if you land a charm you can chunk her pretty hard and super safe with your ulti.
Malz: if you land your silence she is dead...if you have a competent jungler she is dead. His combo is hard to land but if Annie is trying to zone you from farm you should be able to punish her hard as hell.
Morgana: Spell Shield, W for waveclear, Binding makes ganks lethal.
Xerath: Outranges her by a lot, amazing waveclear.
Zed, WEQ to chunk her and cs at the same time if she is trying to zone, if she is at half hp wait for her to waste the stun to last hit and all in her. I feel it comes down to the Zed players skill who wins the lane. But a good zed can beat a great annie.
Brand

Surely any melee champion is 100% out of the question? What makes Zed able to face her?

Zed is pretty much ranged with WEQ just poke her down switch ult ignite and shes dead just make you ave enough health to take like 2 turret shots and if you're getting raped (which you shouldn't I love this match up its easy mode) just get hexdrinker
I'll try it. I've needed to become a better Z player anyway.
He can face her easy. But Zed isn't a melee champion though. He is an assassin with ranged Autoattacks that, in a bit of an outside-the-box experiment with champion, are bound to his Q button with rather low attack speed. It was swapped with his first ability, which is only melee range but was given 100% scaling and a fat ton of free AP as compensation. That's why he doesn't have any trouble.
There are lots of champions, but they all hinge on you understanding annie's range. The most obvious ones that have a clear advantage would be lux, xerath, ziggs, syndra who all have superior range and good waveclear. Other champions that shouldn't have too many problems include orianna, brand, azir and ahri
the counter to annie is spells that outrange her (ie every skillshot or AoE ever) pushing the wave and ganks if she zones you from your own minions
I play Fiddlesticks and prioritize my silence, so even if she's behind a minion wave, I can get one of my crows to bounce over and b*tch-slap her to shut her up. I use my fear to make her windup longer. I drain her when she comes in for creeps. Once I hit 6, she has to decide whether to use Flash or stun for her ult or keep it in case I ult. Zhonya's is great on Fiddles anyway considering his ult, so there's that too.
Basically, anyone who can poke or CC safer or more often than Annie can beat Annie like the redheaded stepchild she is, thanks to her low range, lack of mobility, slow build-up, and dependence on Flash.
will do very well against Annie mid.

I play Annie mid quite a bit, these are the people that I have a hard laning phase against. Yes I mentioned pantheon. That one was the worst of them all.
And for some champions that I have seen do decently against Annie,

And funny enough I have done AP
mid against an Annie and won. Not saying its a good match up, but it was funny.
Many people are suggesting Ahri, I had an argument with someone recently, because a plat said Anni counters Ahri, and someone else said the opposite, I say it comes down to skill and application, no counters involved
That said, I always Galio up on Annie, Orianna is OK, but if caught without her shield (and the bonus MR) Annie can burst her pretty hard, same with Vel. You can outplay Annie but just one small mistake will give her the opportunity to blow you up. Galio is a safe bet, though you need to be a little passive early, until you finish your first sustain and damage item, then it's on (i just bully her under turret, even if I get ganked, i pretend to run, wait for her to come in for the ks, ulti her then w e back to turret while jungler tries to stop me lol)
Malzahar, Xerath, Lux, Galio, most experienced players.
might work.
Take malzahar max your E and have fun

Ayy, 3 assassins and 4 squishies who die from one rotation of spells.
Nice try at trolling.
Morgana, Karma, Syndra, Orianna, Zyra (Zyra is particularly good against Annie), Zilean...
honestly I'm not having a very hard time figuring out which champs don't get shit on. They don't all counter but all of these champs have excellent chance or at least go even.
I consider Annie mid a pretty weak choice, though she excels against assassins.
. just my thoughts on what work best against her
EDIT figured out some more while i was bored:

Play
and ignore her. Max e and rush RoA and just disregard her presence. Clear the minion waves with e, w and passive and if she tries anything walk away. The goal is to leave laning phase 0/0/0 200 cs having killed her tower and maybe the one behind it. If she roams ping ward river and push down her tower. If she tries anything funny you can always silence her drop your w and ult her. Also whenever you get a gank from your jungler just ult her and let him do the rest of the work
EHM YES!
Ziggs & Heimerdinger absolutely demolish Annie. Annie has a slight advantage over Ziggs early game, so get your jungler to gank.
I'm speaking from personal experience, I've played as Annie against Ziggs & Heimerdinger more than I have played Annie against any other champ. & Annie is sort of the easiest midlaner, so it's hard to do bad as her.
