Is there such thing as a "bad champ" in high elo?

People often say that there are champs that can be successful in low elo but terrible in high elo. Is this true?

I guess one example come to mind is Nasus. People say that high elo will deny you farm, so don't pick him.

Higher elo you actually talk about strats. We need tank, ap, ad, engage, disengage, etc.. Some champs just don't fit into those categories. Nasus needs farm so can't leave lane, Taric has one stun, no real engage or disengage, shacos either will win a game by them self or be useless to the team, donger only can hold a lane but outside offers no real damage. Etc.. It's all about team comps and how your kit can help your team, not just yourself.

Wrong, you just pick whatever you want and go yolo. The reason taric is never played is because he is a garbage tiered champion.

Yes there are many auto loss champions that make me highly consider dodging the game because my chances of winning dropped from 50% to 40% from a single shit pick.

The higher your rank, the more champs become useless.

There are several champions that absolutely get destroyed by any competent team. For example, Kat and Yi, the enemy team will save their hard CC for them and instant kill them.
