This is my #1 advice to you if you are trying to climb elo like me.

DON'T FLAME.

I get it. Your bot lane is feeding out of control and you're losing grip of the game. As you're about to spam some nasty insults to them, please reconsider. First of all, they're probably just having a bad game and/or are probably on tilt. Flaming them will not make them any better, only worse. I understand the urge to vent your anger, but doing so will just only result in a less fun game.

If you played a game and you knew you performed your best and lost, there's no reason to be salty. If you are performing well your MMR will slowly rise. Just stick with it and be patient.

Be nice. Be supportive. Give advice.

We all have bad days.

Sometimes when the feeding lane is flaming at you, you cant really be nice after that.. only either quiet or angry

the majority of people who make it out of gold learn this. If you can't be positive, just be quiet.

You cant give advice, even if someone is just getting zoned they will flame you for so much as acknowledging their struggle. People seem to get very indignant in ranked and even when you are trying to impart a strategy on how to beat a champ you know well onto them you end up being the one who is attacking them or something like that. People in league refuse help as well as constructive criticism

if i can't carry my bot lanes that have 25+ deaths contributed to the enemy team.... im not ready for ranked matches. I MUST CONTINUE UNTIL I CARRY ALL FEEDING LANES!! i must be one with Faker.

Lux "Stay positive!"

A good attitude goes a long way in solo queue. Flaming isn't going to help at all, if you are losing might as well do your best to keep your team's spirits high, I have seen incredible comebacks. Some games you will never be able to win, so make sure you make the best of the ones you can win.

One thing I have to say since reaching gold is that a big difference between Gold and Silver is simply the attitude. I have had way less experiences with people flaming in gold. That is until you get to the point where high golds and plats end up in your games. People in plat get kinda egotistical sometimes because they have gotten to whats considered the beginning of high elo. Of course not all of them, but quite a few of them.

Nah nah nah, see here is MY idea on how to climb the "ranked tree" as you say. You see, trees are hard to climb. Certain trees, like the ones in League, are very difficult to climb. So much so, that it becomes a problem when things like termites (flamers/afkers/toxics) and giant woodpeckers (trolls) constantly threaten to shake you off the tree so you fall right back down to the bottom. So, do what humans do. We are not the primates from days of old, no. We are human beings! (I think) Do what any normal everyday human would do if something like a giant tree was blocking their way. Cut it the fuck down with a chainsaw. Humans: 1, Nature: 0

EL HAMSTERO8/16/2015, 9:56:46 PM1 votes

this is very good advice.

im always looking for a reason to troll in my games anyway. if i make a bad play i am just waiting, hoping, someone on my team will say something negative to me. because one comment at the right time is enough for me to troll the rest of the game and feel great about it.

if no one says anything or if they say somethign nice to me, then i am disappointed but i keep trying to win.

Woah. I read the title and was like _don't flame _ and then I read the first two words lol. +1, it is the deciding factor of many games. Often times matches are lost in champ select because of flaming.

SunriseSkaterKid8/16/2015, 10:42:11 PM1 votes

i understand this and i like it but sometimes you cant say "Its okay!" when the enemy cait is 8/0 and has an IE and PD in laning phase and is 3v1 and her ulti does like 3/4 your HP.

I once our teams landed bard 5 man ult our team, i began hysterically laughing as our team got slaughtered. Needless to say i duo'd with that bard after that game. Flaming is easy to avoid if you give no fucks.

I actually just got into gold a few hours ago. And my wins were all pleasant. Even the very close games where I did very poorly bot lane.

I strongly believe in the need of good attitudes throughout the entire match. Had a few that would get so frustrated that he started making silly mistakes. Once he calmed down and focused we actually pulled out the win.

Was quite remarkable. :3

Its sad that people need to be told this more. Flaming breaks your own concentration as well as just brings down the team overall

Bless this post. Honestly, just being really nice and having good teamwork has brought back so many games for me.
