Wait a minute. Why doesn't Devourer enchantment add up before building the item?
I mean considering they reduced the stacks it gives you, shouldn't it give stacks before you upgrade it. Similar to old Feral flare build.

I think it is because it starts you off with 25 stacks.
I'd also like it to give stacks on cannon and super minions
That's just asking for it to be nerfed.
On Super minions might be a good way to still gain damage while forced out of your own jungle.
Then what distinguishes it from being a Jungle item apart from a non-Jungle item? Everyone on both teams might as well get one then. Pfft, balance?! FUQ DAT SHET. GET ME SOME DEVOURER STAQS FOR CSing!!11! AHHUEHUEHUEHUE
...yeah, no.
It isn't relative to the identity of the item, and should remain exclusive to Jungle creeps. Period.
But then everyone would need smite to have it.
And there goes their precious ignite/teleport/heal/exhaust. Because who would sacrifice flash for that?
Exactly. Unless you're a mobility champ, but even to that it's still not a good idea to replace a cruicial summoner spell for it.
You're the one saying everyone would.
I'm saying that if you're inhibitors are down there is a good chance you're forced out of your jungle and made so you can't farm up your Devourer anymore making your damage become weaker and weaker as time passes, in comparison to everyone else probably still gaining gold/damage.
Making it so supers counted as well wouldn't be some game breakingly OP change. You would have to choose between the lane with supers or your jungle, not both more than likely.
...I was joking when I said everyone on both teams should have one. For future reference, I'll toss in the "/sarcasm" so you can clearly notice it.
If your inhibs are down, then getting Jungle stacks should clearly come second to developing a strategy to turn it around; pushing out lanes, attempting Baron or Drag control, warding out the map, realizing focus of core targets--yeah, those don't mean anything-- but let me get stacks killing super minions and just defend base until I have plenty to believe I'll handle a 2v1 ah hurr durr.
/sarcasm/sarcasm/sarcasm/sarcasm/sarcasm/sarcasm/sarcasm/sarcasm/sarcasm/sarcasm/sarcasm/sarcasm
I stick to my original point; OP's idea is not relative to it being a Jungle-exclusive item enchantment, and is overall not a good idea to implement.
2/4 of the Jungle items aren't jungle exclusive so please don't act like it. Two of them are literally meant for ganking, for lane ganking or fights, not the jungle and it's creeps.
When your inhibitors are down leaving base to control any of those can open up so much room for failure. Including, but not limited to, leaving someone behind to defend base which means you probably won't win a teamfight since you're behind. Everyone leaving base and minions pushing it on their own. Being split pushed because they can 4v5 you since your team is behind, or at least push you away from dragon/baron.
This would help people who took the enchantment because realistically it falls off late game unless you're winning, and if you're winning there is often not a reason to farm the jungle instead of teamfight, gank or get objectives.
I don't mean to be rude but you've been Bronze 4 for multiple seasons. You shouldn't deny everything everyone says so quickly and always accept what you say as correct. You can be wrong, learn to live with it.
Tombdragon is right for it to be bought you have to have smite, and it would be stupid to get this item just for a couple of stacks you would get as a laner, but to get stacks from supers as a jungler would be good. Your team goes to crap in mid game shortly after you buy devourer, so you can no longer stack, meaning your late game is going to be crap if your team is able to drag the game out that long.
I know that, and I know he is. The first part of my post he replied to was sarcastic.
And I disagree entirely. The gold you get from killing supers is enough as is; receiving stacks for higher damage output completely shatters any balance the game has.
If your team falls off late game and you're the jungler, then that means you're to blame equally. Stacks don't have to be given for killing creeps outside of jungle, and you certainly don't need to be rewarded for it.
Honestly, I think the reduction from 40 to 25 was kinda harsh. I think 30 is a happy medium to start off with. That would make it so that its viable in the mid-game and less of a "win-more" stacking item.
Right now it just sucks in the early-game. If you just AFK farm as a jungler trying to stack this up to a point where its worth, your team is probably already behind due to enemy jungler pressure who actually itemized for the early-mid game. Not to mention that many junglers who utilize this item well (Udyr/Master Yi) already have poor early-game pressure.

AFK Farming isn't a strategy that we really want to support. Period. So we need to support Auto attacking Junglers in some other form or fashion. Though most Auto Attack Junglers are Assassins, they don't have good enough ganking power to farm lane opponents. We could try focusing on their dueling power. Allowing them to better invade and counter Jungle. The other problem is that (competitively) it's more important to get the laners ahead. so late scaling auto attacking Jungler fall nowhere in the meta. And if they work in YoloQ, people just complain about it. (hi WW)
Personally, I feel like we would be better off focusing on the Auto attacking Junglers themselves. The best Auto Attacking Junglers (who would build Devourer) would still be Bruisers, just more DPS focus, but with still fair ganking and dueling power. A good Example of this is Rek'sai.
Yeah lets not do that.
I thinks its so you don't cheese the system. You could get the empowered smite and build stacks while building other items first. It just makes its so its a priority first item. But i want those early stacks as much as anyone.
I don't think it should be stacked off cannon minions, but it should stack off super minions. If you're behind to the point where they have an inhib, it is impossible to get stacks. You can't go into your jungle and that keeps you from being anything but useless. If it stacked off super minions, it would only benefit you if you were so behind that you are an inhib down before you get it sated(20-25 minutes), I think that would be completely balanced,
